citizen tactical's Review of Trijicon RMR HD 1x Reflex Red Dot Sights

I've used a wide range of pistol optics over the years, and the Trijicon RMR HD absolutely stands out as the best red dot sight I've ever mounted. Trijicon has taken everything that made the original RMR a gold standard and elevated it with thoughtful, real-world improvements.

First, the forward-facing light sensor is a game-changer. It adjusts brightness based on what you're aiming at—not just the environment around you. This means no more washed-out reticles when using a weapon light or transitioning from bright to low-light targets. It’s incredibly fast and intuitive.

The reticle options are another major plus. Being able to switch between a crisp 1 MOA dot and a segmented 55 MOA circle gives me flexibility across different applications—whether it’s precision shots or rapid acquisition in close quarters.

The top-loading battery design is a small but huge quality-of-life improvement. No more re-zeroing after battery changes. And speaking of durability, this optic is built like a tank—just like you'd expect from Trijicon. It holds zero flawlessly through thousands of rounds, heavy use, and a few unintentional drops.

The field of view is noticeably larger than the original RMR, and the glass clarity is excellent. Controls are tactile and glove-friendly, with plenty of brightness settings, including night vision compatibility. It’s also surprisingly lightweight considering the rugged build.

Yes, it’s pricier than some options out there—but if you rely on your gear for real-world use, whether duty, self-defense, or serious range time, you get every penny’s worth.

Highly recommend the RMR HD to anyone who wants uncompromising performance in a red dot sight. Trijicon nailed it.
