Just picked my rifle up today, RMR is dead. No problem, I’ll just swap the battery. New battery, doesn’t come on, second new battery, won’t come on. So I now have to go through Trijicon to try and resolve a broken RMR that’s not even 2 years old. This is now the second Trijicon product that I own that is faulty.

Trijicon might be pricy to some but with the durability they offer and being a US made product, I believe they are worth it. I have 6 or 7 RMR products in various forms and all are excellent and have taken a lot of abuse. Large, easily manipulated buttons. Easy adjustments, just need an empty case or such.

When I first bought the Trijicon RMR, I was a little disappointed. It doesn’t have many features. There is no solar backup power. There is no shake-awake function. You even have to remove the entire optic to change the battery, which means going through the whole re-zeroing process. I own several different optics and have used several others, so I was expecting a lot more bang for my buck out of the most expensive reflex sight I’ve ever dropped a paycheck on.
Over time, however, I’ve discovered the reason for the brand loyalty and why so many people swear by the RMR. I live in the New Mexico desert. My shooting range is a bright, sand-blasted, windy open space with tumbleweeds for a backdrop. Sunglasses are a requirement, not a fashion statement. Of all the optics I’ve used, the RMR is the one with zero glare and a clear-as-day reticle under a high-noon sun. It’s steady as a rock, it takes a beating (real life drop test, not on purpose) and it just works. Some of the other optics still work in the bright sun, but it takes a precious second to acquire the dot. On some of the cheaper optics the dot is barely visible and is all but useless. One couldn’t be used at all because of the glare from the sun of the glass.
The RMR is on my everyday carry. When my life is on the line and every second counts, the Trijicon is my go-to optic.

Just like the title says…. Best little red dot I have three of them …1 is mounted on top of Trijicon Acog…2 mounted on 10 1/2 inch Daniel defense … 3 mounted Daniel defense H9 they hold up on my acreage trucking through thick wooded areas and have never let me down … highly recommended
