Goody

I give it a 5. Looking over the sight I can tell it was researched and designed properly. I have not been to the range yet to see how well it performs. The tritium lights up very well. I have the Di-Optic rear sight with tritium to match. It is interesting, but I have yet to shoot it yet.

If your gas block(the pictanny rail on the front of your rifle) is not level with the rear you will need this one.

To attach it you slide it on the front of your gas block and then secure it with the screw. It is a strange design but I am sure they built it that way for a reason. The metal is very thick; looks able to handle punishment.

It is foldable and when tucked away it will remove itself from the line of sight of your main optic. I do not have a Red-dot or relflex sight yet so I do not know how the front sight lines up.

It is worth the money and opticsplanet had the best price on it and were the only company that had it in stock during the industry back order. My rear sight took 3 more days for it to arrive because troy had to make more.

The tritium comes with a 5 year warranty in case the gas ever leaks; should last decades though. The tritium is worth the extra money. The standard sight is a good bit of money; go for the goal!

I got a baseball cap as well that was cool!
Pros: It is a good sight, I can see why the military uses them
Cons: It is not cheap, but it is a good product

Troy Front Tritium M4 Gas Block Mounted Battle Sight

by Legacy Reviewer, Verified Owner Written on December 11, 2011
This sight is great. Like all of Troy's product, this is a serious piece of equipment, and gets the job done. Built like a bank vault! Admittedly, this is a bit pricey for something that is basically a back-up sight, as I use an Eotech HWS (another great Optics Planet purchase) on my AR. Another observation is that this item is part of the seemingly growing trend to festoon an AR with a plethora of doo-dads and gee-gaws. For example, by the time I finished adding a Surefire light, this sight, a rear sight, a vertical fore grip, and the Eotech, I've basically got a shorter, weaker version of an M14 from a weight perspective! Of course, again, the price is steep, but in this case you get what you pay for....and I'd rather pay that price than see production get moved off-shore.
All said, a great product!
Pros: Built like a tank, folds fairly flat, makes low-light aiming a breeze
Cons: Price, weight
