I have been using these rails for almost 15 years starting with some of their very first models. They are slim, lightweight, solid and very easy to install. This newer version with M-Lok compatibility could be one of the best rails on the market. Mounting system locks right up to standard GI Barrel nut so no special tools, shims or timing required. These rails also integrate seamlessly with the upper with no locking or tension tabs below the rear of the handrail which can eat into your hands. Once you use one of these you probably won't ever use another rail again.
Pros:
- Easy to install, slim profile, lightweight

I've been using these types of Troy Rails for over 15 years going back to the first ones produced. They are so easy to install using the standard AR barrel nut so no special tools required. The lockup system also allows for a seamless integration with the upper with no tension tabs on the bottom of the rail that eats into your hand like so many others. Properly installed these rails are rock solid and are extremely comfortable as well as being light weight. Once you've used one of these rails your going to have a hard time using anything else. Excellent product from TROY!
Pros:
- ergonomic
- Lightweight
- Easy to install,
- sleak and slim
Cons:
- It doesn't make your rifle full auto
Best Used for:
- Tactical and Hunting builds

Love the rail but it came with absolutely no hardware. I knew there was no barrel and ordered one to with it but it showed up with no attaching hardware whatsoever . Should have been noted in listing

I got my rail awhile back but was waiting for some free time to completely rebuild my upper and install it. I got everything put together and functioning, but when I went to mount the rail I found out that it had no mounting mechanism. There were no threaded holes, clamping mechanisms, etc that would lock it in place over the barrel nut. It just slides on and off freely, and has about 30 degrees of free rotation whenever it's in what should be the correct position. I thought I was going crazy and took it to 2 different gunsmiths trying to solve the problem, but both of them agreed that there was no way to mount it without doing some custom modifications.

I bought the 12.5" to replace my Troy Alpha rail so I could get M-Lok compatibility. I prefer the mid-size rail on 16" barrels. As long as you have a mil-spec barrel nut (not included), this just slides on and then tighten down. I absolulty love the look and the slim profile.
Pros:
- Weight
- Looks
- Installation
