TruGlo makes this great entry level scope.
I bought this for an entry level 30-06 bolt action, the Remington 783. I used Warner mounts. I mounted that scope. Everything fit (barely). The bolt handle up only misses the body of the scope by about 1/2 inch when coming to the rear of the receiver. Then I disassembled, used blue Loctite used on the 4 base screws, 2 each base. Reassembled. Sliding the scope tube within the loosened rings, I set the eye relief to about 1.5 inches shouldering to my natural cheek position. I "eyeballed" level in the reticle, cinched down the allen head ring screws. Perfect for this application.
