TruGlo Wing Stopper Good Idea but Needs Quality Control

by Beaver, Verified Owner from WI, United States Written on September 19, 2017
Like many people who don't have 20/20 vision any more, I was looking for something to help me with my vision besides new glasses. This concept makes great sense, but I wish that the manufacturers would pay closer attention to what this item needs. The fiber optic sight in the tunnel is a good idea to keep your dominant eye in focus while not letting your weak eye get in the way. (I was actually seeing 4 beads when I got to the 5th station and would get a hard right target.) The mounting was easy, and the results were immediate. It was much like a bow sight. The problem was that the inside of the tunnel was not smooth, and it actually obscured the bead from 9 o'clock to noon. I tried to use different things to clear out the tunnel with no success. So, I ordered a new, more expensive sight, hoping it will provide a clearer sight picture. It's a great idea and a great tool, but I think the design could be better and different. Blocking out your weak eye to make sure your dominant eye remains in line with the sight is a must for accurate trap and wing shooting. When your young eyes get old, you might need some help. This might work for you, but it was too blurry for me. I'll try a different one because I hate shooting with glasses on. The target is in focus but the sights are a blur.
Pros:
  • Easy mount. Good idea
Cons:
  • Tube was rough inside. Hard to see through.
