Most Helpful Positive Review Trulock Boar Blaster Choke
Wow this choke really works, test shot @42yrds Remington 3" mag double 00 buck shot (20 years old) all pellets shot into a 18" circle. Also shot S/B 2-3/4" mag 4 Buck, same distance 13" pattern. For pigs in brush it can't be beat and coyote coming in close excellent!

Did not fit my gun.

by Gerry, Verified Owner from NJ, United States Written on June 1, 2025
I purchased this Trulock Boar Buster extended choke tube to use with buckshot in my Hatsan PS turkey shotgun (12 ga.) My research indicated that Rem./Choke choke tubes were the proper match for my gun. Unfortunately, while I like the look, design and quality of this tube, it does not fit my barrel. The threads measure (.808) BUT the shoulder is (.818) ...The extended turkey choke(V3)that came with my gun threads measures (.808 same as above) and the shoulder is (.812) Is this problem perhaps a quality control issue or is the Rem/choke just an incorrect match for my gun? The bottom line is that I am looking for an extended choke tube to use with buckshot, preferably the Boar Blaster with the compatibility of my V3 choke that came with my gun.Your help is truly appreciated. Thank you, Gerry V.

the Beretta Benelli mobile is a very good choke made for buckshot

I have probably four or five of these chokes and they are very extremely well built and will handle double out trip a lot buckshot or other types of shot but it does make a real good pattern

Decent choke

by Cavey, from NY, United States Written on October 29, 2019
My newer Remington 870 express with 3 1/2 chamber was not shooting consistently acceptable patterns with numerous brands of 00 buckshot with several constrictions of extended chokes and even tried a few specialty buckshot chokes. After spending way more money than I thought I would on this quest I tried this Boar Blaster. Using regular 15 pellet Federal 3 inch loads I finally found something acceptable to me. Not blisteringly tight like some folks get on you tube , but consistently acceptable enough for me. I am confident that 40 yards and in - brown's down. No excuses except for my own aim. Obviously different folks may have other results but I am very happy I tried this one before giving up.

seems to work, but there may be better options if you spend time and $ testing

by Zube, from VA, United States Written on January 9, 2018
A lot of Money for a small piece of tubular steel...still I figured if it works as promised it's worth it ( still cheaper than the "buck kicker"). I've only tried a couple variations of 00B and one brand of 000B, all at 25 yards, both put all pellets in about 12 inches. ( I was rushed and didn't take time to try at 40 or 50 years)
Bottom line: like everyone has always said, you do need to try a variety of buckshot options to see what really works best. in my experience so far all that I've tried worked adequately. unfortunately at about $1.00 each shot that can add up quickly.
P.S. something else that works really good is simply using Federal ))B with the "Flitecontrol" wad.
must use cylinder bore choke or possibly improved cylinder with these, but they gave an even tighter pattern at 25 years than the boar blaster. ( again , didn't have time to test at 40-50 yards)
Pros:
  • works adequately
Cons:
  • pricey, but possibly worth it
Best Used for:
  • Deer hunting, or hogs
