trybe lightweight Handguard

I like the fact that this Handguard came with its own barrel nut , made assembling it a lot easier! Attaching it with two screws very easy! I’d recommend this for new builders! Good form fit finish! Lightweight is an understatement!

Won't stay put

Ordered this several months ago for a lightweight build, and it's been nothing but trouble. I torqued everything to the manufacturer's specs, and it wiggled loose. So I torqued everything to the manufacturer's specs and then blue loctited it. Then I overtorqued it and broke out the red loctite. It just wiggled free AGAIN, and I'm over it. Nothing has kept this stupid thing in place. So now I'm shopping for a different one.

Needed a short, lightweight, mlok rail to replace factory handguard

Ordered an AR15 upper but did not realize it came with a rounded handguard with no mount points.
Additionally, the gas block was full-size with picatinny rail on top of it, thus I needed a handguard with mlok mount points that was shorter than 7" or so, in order for it to fit between the upper receiver and the gas block.
This rail fit almost perfectly with only a very tiny gap between it and the back of the gas block. Also allowed for a continuous top pic rail across the upper receiver, this handguard and then over the gas block.
Have had no problem with handguard rotating around the barrel nut, seems to be locked into place just fine.
The alernative solution was to replace the full-size gas block with a low-profile gas block so that I could install a longer handguard that covered the gas bock, but that seemed like more trouble than it was worth since this rail fit quite nicely.

works with normal profile gas blocks

Needed a better handguard than the factory handguard, but the ar had a normal height (i.e. NOT low profile) gas block so a long handguard will not slide over the top of this gas block.
This handguard fit perfectly behind the gas block and provided the needed mounting points and hand holds.
This handguard would also be useful if you had a quick-adjust gas block that needed to be finger accessible.

Great Hand Guard from Trybe Defense

I have bought some Trybe Defense threaded barrels and compensators for my Glocks. I figured I would give this hand guard a try since my 11" VTAC wasn't long enough. I swapped it out for this. The installation was easy. My only concern was that the barrel nut does not KEY into the hand guard to prevent rotation, BUT the design is such that one tightens it down to 50 ft lbs, and uses loc tite and clamps the handguard over the knurled barrel nut to mar the inside of the hand guard. I have had zero issues with it.

It is very light and durable. I would give it a try. Great price point.
