PstCntrl's Review of TRYBE Defense AR-15 Mil-Spec 5.56 NATO/.223 Rem/.300 Blackout Complete Bolt Assembly
I got this, along with the cam pin, to have as backup. I have a simple Diamondback DB15, along with a full spare nitride BCG by Trybe. So I installed this bolt and cam pin into the Trybe BCG and put a few mags through it the other day. Zero issues. I can't comment on durability with a high round count, but as a spare it should be great. I know that there are general concerns about NiB finishes so I'm not sure I'd use it as main. I like nitride finish.
Initially I thought the gas rings felt somehow loose or appeared a tad larger than I'm used to, but the bolt rides nice and tight in the carrier and function was flawless.
If anyone cares, it's a 16", carbine gas, and I tried 223 (55gr), 556 M183 (55gr), and AAC 75gr OTM, all without issues.
So far I have tried Trybe's charging handles, complete BCG's, and now this bolt. Have not seen any real defects. Just sent back a dust cover that had the printing off-center and crooked, that's the only thing. I hope they keep improving so we can have these inexpensive options.
