Purchase. but be aware of a few things - TRYBE Defense Glock 19 9mm Pistol Slide - Version 1 - NO BASE PLATE

I purchased this as a testing unit for a custom Glock clone using an SCT frame and Apex Trigger kit which included a trigger block. The slide itself seems to be of decent quality, and the RMR optic plate cut was present when it arrived, and is made of metal instead of the usual plastic. Which is a nice plus. It's also heavier than the AIMSURPLUS slide, which could help in recoil

Now, when people typically get slides that are on the lower end of the pricing spectrum (Trybe, AIMSURPLUS, etc), you can't expect perfection, and that sometimes tolerances are going to be a little tight, and what people don't realize is that it's the trigger block that will make or break the utility of an aftermarket slide. When I mean that the TRYBE defense tolerances for the trigger block are tight, I mean they are T-I-G-H-T. Once the slide was on and I was able to fire about 50-60 rounds of 9mm 124 ammo through it, the slide started loosening up a bit. However, disassembly of the slide from the frame is ridiculously difficult. There is NO PLAY between the slide and the frame, which is good, but at the same time, if something gets jammed in between the slide and frame, like a grain of sand or anything, you're not getting this off.

Now, I can only speak of this with the SCT frame as a sample of one, so, please go ahead and purchase with reasonable confidence, and try it on another frame, like a PSA frame, or even a Glock frame, I think you would be ok, especially the Gen 4 model. But to use this as an EDC as a carry to save my life, no. I wouldn't use it for that purpose. As a range toy, or a training tool, however, this is pretty good. I may get another one, but I would only do so if the AIMSURPLUS version were out of stock.
