Better than binos costing 2 to 3 times more. - TRYBE Optics 10x42mm ED/HD Binoculars

I bought several pairs of bino's to compare in hand so I could make the right choice. I bought these TRYBE Optics 10x42mm ED/HD, Vortex Diamondback 10x42, Burris Signature HD 10x42, Endeavor ED IV 10x42, and also a pair of Sig Sauer Zulu9 9x45. The Sig's had the best optics, but not by a large margin for me. They were the largest and heaviest, and the focus wheel and diopter ring both gave a fair amount of resistance. I like that in a diopter ring so it's less likely to get inadvertently moved, but not so much in a focus wheel. All of these bino's had a somewhat stiff focus wheel. The Endeavor's was the worst...smooth at first, then as you got to your focal point and went the other direction to fine tune, it would give even more resistance and then skip, causing difficulty in obtaining fine focus. Eventually you could get it, but it was aggravating to do so. I even sent them back for exchange, and the replacement pair was the same way, which was unfortunate because I really wanted to like them. Had it not been for the focus wheel I would have kept them. The Vortex were decent, but as all the other bino's I purchased were ED glass, I decided to just go ED so I returned them. I am very happy with the Burris - they are by far the best looking of the bunch if that's important to you, they have a good feel in hand, and the controls are smooth. Optically i don't see much difference between them and the Trybe's..they are both very good. The Trybe's, though, are just so easy to use. The focus wheel is super smooth and low drag...it's effortless to bring an object into focus. The center-mounted diopter is a little unusual in that it has detents as you adjust it. Initially I didn't really care for that, but now I actually like it because the detents keep it from getting out of adjustment from minor bumps, etc...and I think i counted 32 detent positions, so you won't have a problem getting that right eye zeroed! I ended up keeping the Burris and the Sig Zulu9's as well, so I have 3 pairs of bino's now....but I find myself grabbing the Trybe's most frequently. I've had several friends try all of these bino's, and the Trybe's have been the universal winner with all of them. I highly recommend these binocular's, and Optics Planet!
