AZPinz's Review of Ultradyne Athena Linear Compensator
I have installed a number of muzzle devices, including compensators, brakes if you know what they do, and 'breaks' if you can't spell. If you are looking for a good fitting compensator that directs the blast away from you and fits well then this is an excellent choice. It fit right, indexed easily and performed good.
I would compare this in performance to the flaming pig, though I haven't shot it at night like I have the Noveske. This seems to completely direct the flash/noise out the front and the fit & finish is excellent. This is slightly smaller in diameter than the pseudo-can devices that are meant to look like you have the end of a suppressor on there, but it is very nicely finished and shaped. I also like the way they have a washer that lets you clock the device instead of using shims, but I am curious if a few thousand rounds might loosen it over a few heat cycles. We will see.
Bottom line, if you are looking specifically for a compensator, and are on the fence with this one, buy it.
