Most Helpful Positive Review Uncle Mike's Sidekick Ambidextrous hip holster
The holster offers excellent protection for my gun when camping or hiking. The retention strap quickly releases if needed and it provides a space for an extra magazine. I like it because it fits my needs. Pros: Good quality for the price; Great fit for most of my large autos.
Most Helpful Negative Review Uncle Mike's Sidekick Holster
I am not at all satisfied. The holster was advertised as an inside the waste band, concealed carry holster. His is not possible because of the total thickness of the holster. When carried IWB it is much too thick and not concealed at all unless a coat is worn to cover the excessive bulge. Most j...

holster ordered for revolver

by Gordo, Verified Owner from LA, United States Written on April 29, 2016
I rated this holster 4 stars. Its the typical Uncle Mike quality, EXCEPT that it arrived with the snap broken and missing. I have since sent it back. I did not re-order it yet. I am going to look for one locally before ordering it online again.
Pros:
  • good quality for the money.
Cons:
  • arrived with broken snap

not bad for the price

by fyrefighter2, Verified Owner from AL, United States Written on February 22, 2016
Have not had these long enough to know a lot about them yet but so far they seem to be what they were advertised as. I do like the adjustable strap system. Easy to set up with the device that is furnished with these. Should be made just a bit wider toward the bottom of the holster so it will fit guns with trigger guard mounted lasers. Laserlyte says this on will work with my M&P 40 with laser but it is just a bit to tight.
Pros:
  • Ambidextrous, fits right or left side of stock
  • spare clip holder
Cons:
  • a bit bulky
  • not great for conceal carry

Uncle Mike perfect fit

by vietnam6871, Verified Owner from SC, United States Written on February 15, 2016
This holster was exactly what I was looking for, relatively inexpensive and a perfect fit to my Taurus Millennium Pro. It's normal place is in my glove box and this holster gives it protection from the wear and tear of bouncing around while driving.

Great utility holster

by griz, from AZ, United States Written on August 4, 2015
This is a perfect holster for my M&P compact 9 for my jeep. It provides everything I need for this particular purpose. What else can I say about a great holster for a great price and it is even ambidextrous and can work as an inside the waist band holster, too.

Uncle mikes ambi sidekick holster

by Pickupstix, from CA, United States Written on July 7, 2015
Nice enough holster, beefy lightweight and secure. It is a little puffy with the side padding making it seem larger when the firearm is in it.
Wish I'd ordered a little smaller size for
My G27. It's sturdy and should last a long time.

Does not fit a Ruger P94

by Charlie, Verified Owner from MO, United States Written on October 16, 2014
Rated as a 3 b/c it does not work for Ruger P94 as advertised. Holster seems to be well built and comfortable to wear. I liked the fact that it had a mag holder pouch. Unforunately it does not fit a Ruger P94 as advertised by Unclie Mike's. You could jam it in to the proper position but then you couldn't draw it without pulling it off your belt or holding the holster with opposite hand.
Pros:
  • Magazine Pouches
  • Well-Made
Cons:
  • Doesn't function as advertised
Would recommend: No

Ammo loop holster

by Legacy Reviewer, Verified Owner from FL, United States Written on October 27, 2013
Nice and durable. Ammo loops are a huge plus. I alternate between defensive shells and shot shells when I'm in the woods with my Judge. The holster is a couple inches longer than necessary for the polymer public defender but will work for most of Taurus Judge models. A lil snug at first but I stuffed the pistol in a sock and left it holstered to loosen it up. Practical and versatile.
Pros: ambidextrous, shell loops
Cons: fits a lil snug out of the box

Great Gun holster

by Legacy Reviewer, from WA, United States Written on July 27, 2013
I bought 3 models of this holster for gifts. It was sketchy which one might work for which gun due to descriptions.
the M07005-0 size 5 fits 45 cal trp great it also fits XDM 40 but the fit is really tight.
Mo7001-0 size 1 fits Ruger SR22, does not fit M&P 9mm shield.
M 7016-0 size 16 fits M&P shield 9mm good. These are great inexpensive holsters that have extra mag pouches. The belt clip works fine. Solid well made holsters at reasonable price.
Pros: Has a thumb break/ X-tra magazine pouch

Great holster!

by Legacy Reviewer, Verified Owner from MN, United States Written on March 25, 2013
I bought this for a P226 X-Five Tactical training clone with a 5" barrel. The holster is made for 4.5-5" and it easily fits with about an extra inch clearance at the muzzle. The metal clip (fits a 1 7/8" belt tightly) is great to quickly clip it directly on my belt. For field training I'll probably remove the metal clip and use the sewn in belt loop instead which will fit a 1.5" belt. I've alerted Uncle Mike's that their belt measurement is off in their product desc, it is not Optics Planet's fault.
Pros: Does everything I need it to do
Cons: None
Would recommend: Yes

Medium Ambidextrous Holster

by Legacy Reviewer, Verified Owner from TN, United States Written on March 6, 2013
I bought my wife a .380 for personal protection. She's right handed and I'm left handed and Uncle Mikes is one of the few makers of good ambidextrous belt holsters. All my pistols have one. Great product.
Pros: Easy setup
Cons: A little tight to start, but it'll break in
