Excellent Cane for both purposes. Is light weight, but has some hefty to it, so know will hit hard. So, easy to maneuver walking with, & wield as a defensive cane, if trained properly. At 6'3", is still a bit long, & about 1-2 inches will be sawed pff, then a HomeDepot rubber can tip will be put on, as this tip on it is plastic & slippery=useless. A reco buy for all in need, or want.

I've been using this one model of cane for years. It's tough and nigh-unbreakable, has a wicked hook, and is a great weapon to keep in plain sight. I've taken it everywhere I can't carry a pistol, and take it with me into stores and on walks etc., even years after my legs have been rehabbed and I don't need it anymore. This cane has made it through airports, into weapon-free concerts, and other anti-freedom places (gun-free zones) and allows me a good chance to still defend myself if needed. It's also handy for getting stuff that's out of reach at the grocery store.
The boot at the bottom is junk. And if you look on Youtube about canes, you can figure out how to measure the proper length for you and cut off the extra with a hacksaw. Afterwards, get a 7/8" boot for tools etc from Ace Hardware, and you're good to go. Will have to change the boot every once in a while with regular use.
It's a huge shame that United Cutlery seems to have discontinued this. I bought a few extras.
Pros:
- Versatile
- tough
- dangerous
- hide in plain sight
- great as an actual cane
Cons:
- A little pricey
- discontinued?
- useless boot that needs replaced
Best Used for:
- actual cane usage
- staying armed in anto-freedom areas
- defense melee weapon

Excellent cane, solid construction. Does not look a weapon when you use it in public. I did modify it in two ways, but now that’s just me. Changed the cane tip to 7/8” regular tip. I also used black hockey tape to slightly modify the top portion for a more secure grip.

This is an excellent walking/defense cane. Actuality this is the 2nd cane I bought for that purpose. This cane will be a gift to a dear friend along with some instructions on use and length. As with my cane, I will change the tip out for a 7/8” cane tip as the only con is the tip. This cane is almost indestructible and will endure for years.

Received my cane. Quite sturdy of construction. Will leave it long as I deal with surfaces of different heights on the ranch. Only con was the tip, changed it to 7/8” cane tip. It simply not grippy enough. Am pleased overall.

First off, the cane tip that comes with this is only good for carpeted floors. You will slip and fall with this one. I switched it out with a crutch tip.
Secondly, the end of the crook actually points towards the shaft, instead of downwards. This is a no-no for a self-defense cane. Come July or August, I'll put it outside til it gets hot in the sun, and bend it to the right angle. The End of the tip being "cut" wrong is easily fixed by recutting it.
That being said, it is better than wood canes that break, and can be used as stabbing weapons against you after. And better than aluminum canes that bend if you need to use it as a striking weapon.
If I put my 176 lb. weight against this (while using as a cane) it will bend just slightly. Maybe it could use a steel shaft.
Pros:
- height
- Durable (good luck breaking it)
Cons:
- Incorrect alignment of crook
- Poor tip choice

I have Spondylolisthesis, basically a crack in the L4 vertebrae and have
used a cane for over 20 years. I have a collection of canes. Some I use
daily, others not at all. This cane gets daily use. It meets or exceeds
what I want in a cane. Light enough to use all day yet just enough heft to
pack a wallop on a vermin if needed. Strong and near indestructible it's
perfect for walking and/or self defense.
To answer a few caveats that have been mentioned, the crook is fine just as
it is for hooking a leg, arm or neck, even a clavicle take down maneuver. As
for twirling, if you can twirl a cane and walk, you don't need a cane. It's
easy to trim to what size you need. It does need a decent 7/8" ID tip and
a little silicone grip tape on the neck to grip better in the cold or if
wet. Both are easy fixes. I give it 5 stars because it checks all the boxes
better than the other far more expensive canes I have and have and will
recommend it to my friends that need a rugged cane for walking and if need
be, self defense. This is my 2nd one. One I keep in the truck, the other
I keep with me.

Pros:
- Rugged / sturdy/ does the job /quality image
Cons:
- Change the tip and tape the grip

I'm large and tall. Cane works well, perfect length, supports me properly. However, the tip is a hard plastic - most likely for the self defense aspect. On tile, linoleum, and especially wet stone, it is prone to slipping. I will be replacing the tip with a better rubber variety which grips better. It would be nice if the company provided an option or included both tips with the cane.
Pros:
- Looks great
- Perfect size without cutting
- Supports weight
Cons:
- Tip is hard plastic
- Prone to slipping on some surfaces

a bit too narrow and won't 'spin' well...no worries, very fixable with a hacksaw (instructions on Youtube) and I reversed the direct of the point...perfect now...a little heavy, but super strong material

This cane is perfect for me. I needed a cane that I could get wet. I’ve been swimming for exercise and my wooden cane was beginning to crack from the wetness of the pool. The rain and snow are no problem. It’s also light weight.
Pros:
- Water and weather proo
- Water and weather proof
Cons:
- Not as good looking as wood
