Reviews & Ratings for US Night Vision IR Spot/Flood Lens

This IR Spot/Flood lens slips onto the IR light nipple on the left front of the Armasight NVGs and provides focusing ability from wide angle to narrow beam. The problem is, I found the NVG IR light so dim that it really only helps in close quarters, such as Silence of the Lambs proximity. In the field, where you want to see out hundreds of yards, this IR light and lens are useless. I couldn’t tell any difference in brightness in the field beyond about 10 yards.
I opted instead for a fairly elaborate helmet mounting system, using a MICH compatible helmet, Armasight IR flashlight (very nice!) on the left side, expensive Armasight (made by Norotos, Inc.) helmet mount, and multi—color flashlight on the right side (nice weight balance). With that setup, the built-in IR and subject lens are not useful. However, it does what it’s supposed to do.
