OK, with an explaination.
OK, so, as pictured you need two hands to strike a spark. Even then this thing is hard to hang on to.
I can't imagine trying to do this with cold and wet hands. A plain Bic mini lighter would be way better and not much bigger than the case this comes in and could be done one handed.
The instructions differ from the picture. The instructions say to roll it on a flat surface next to the tinder. And oh yah, pay attention to the direction arrow on the side. Wheel will only spark rolling in one direction. By now my hands are frozen.
Maybe this would be something "better than nothing". If I had nothing I would be happy to have this.
Might be something to put in a pocket survival kit as a back-up to the back-up spark source.
