Most Helpful Positive Review Great item!

Worked very well for what I needed. I lost my original pins and these are a universal fit so I was back up and running. Great quality and priced well and shipping was quick. Another great purchase from Optics Planet!

Spring and detent pin

by Ian, Verified Owner from CA, United States Written on August 11, 2026

Placed an order for spring and detent pin kit. OpticsPlanet was great in communicating with me status on temporary back order and possible substitutes . I decided to keep my order and was notified shortly that it shipped. Purchasing from them was easily and def plan on doing it again for my future firearms needs

These work as described, not much to say. Price could be better, but these work for what I need them to do.

The parts are as described. I haven't tried a lot of different brands. I would recommend.

Takedown pin is now stuck

by Robert Fraggle, Verified Owner from WI, United States Written on December 5, 2023

Installed using geissele lower parts kit & spikes tactical lower. These detents seemed the same as what I got with the kit but once I got the one I needed in they got my takedown pin completely stuck. Now I can't use my lower :) even using a punch and hammer I can't move the takedown pin any more. Beware... just buy the replacements from the manufacturer you got your lower parts kit from!

Pros:

seem good quality

Cons:

shipping cost. Got my takedown pin completely stuck forever!

Best Used for:

Something else.

2 thumbs up

by Daniel Duhon, Verified Owner from AL, United States Written on September 11, 2023

Worked just like the original part. I was replacing my receiver plate when the takedown pins when the back spring flew out across the room. Found these on optics planet and had me up and running again in a week or so.

Detents and springs

by Springy, from TX, United States Written on April 6, 2021

Exactly what I needed for a good price. You can never have enough takedown springs. Short. Skinny. Springy. Superbly secure. My previous lower (complete lower with buffer tube) had the pivot detention missing. Who does that?
