fishman's Review of Vanguard Endeavor ED II 10x42 mm Binoculars

This is the fourth pair of binos I have tried in the past couple of months while searching for the best pair that I could afford. No, I didn't try any of the high end glasses as I wasn't going to buy anything with a price tag over $600-$700. I tried the Nikon Monarch 5, Minox HD, Meopta Meopro, all 8x42 or 8x44, before ordering the Vanguards in 10x42 after the Allbinos review rated them better than the 8x42. None of the first 3 were bad, I just found wasn't 100% satisfied with any one of them and wasn't going to settle for something that didn't completely like. These glasses are well constructed, and the image quality is great. The reviews and comments I read were spot on, and I had an Optics Planet promo code that gave me $20 off. In addition, Vanguard was offering an $80 mail in rebate, so I ended up paying $300. No, they are not perfect, but the only gripe I have is a small amount of slack in the focus wheel, which is not a dealbreaker for me, plus they have a lifetime warranty. I'm keeping'em.
