Great Mid Level Product
I am an entry level binocular user and have been very please with this product. The clarity is very good and they even work great in low light conditions. I have seen beautiful wildlife in my backyard/lake area and can even spot dragonflies several hundred yards away!
Pros: Easy to focus, excellent clarity
Cons: hard to keep track of lense cover
Vanguard Spirit ED 8x42
I intend to use these for safari and birding. I read multiple reviews and visited many binocular websites to understand the pros and cons of various binoculars. For the price ($50 rebate currently in effect) these are a very good value, and I couldn't find any other binoculars with other ED glass in this price range. They are toward the low end in terms of weight for 8x42 binoculars. They are easy to focus and the eyecups are easy to use with or without glasses. There are other products out there with wider field of view, which is nice, but the combination of price, features, and optics is what brought me to buy these. So far, I'm not disappointed. If I had to nitpick, the lens caps are very cheap feeling and likely to get lost

Great Binocs

and have found them to be everything advertised. This is my 1st pair of high quality binocs and they are clear as a bell and focus quickly. I keep them on the tripod I received as a rebate promo (also a great product) and have seen all sorts of wildlife on my lake. I can even see dragonflies a couple hundred yards away!
