Captain Amazing's Review of Vector Optics Taurus 4-24x50mm FFP Rifle Scope

I have had the Scope for about a week and these are my first impressions. the fit and finish are good, and what that means is that it isn't coated in some indestructible Teflon anti-glare SR71 blackbird nonsense, but it is also not a cheap painted body. it looks and handles every bit as nicely as my Vortex, Holosun or Leupold optics. The glass is crystal clear, and to my eyes; the difference between this and my higher end Vortex and Primary Arms Scopes is negligible at best. The eye relief is true to what is stated, as is the zoom and parallax. Mounting the scope and dialing in my zero, I found the turrets to be very positive and responsive, nice audible clicks, a little loose (tension) but no play in them so they seem trustworthy. I performed a tracking test and confirmed that the scope tracks 100% and zero holds 100%, at least under the mild recoil of .308. I haven't tried it in low light conditions, so I cannot comment or compare it yet in that regard. honestly it is every bit as nice as a scope costing 2-3 times as much. All of the components of the scope are of seemingly very high quality. this scope comes with extra turrets (cool colors, doubt I will use them), a set of 1.25" rings which are aluminum but seem to be very sturdy and well made (6-torx screws per ring), a kill-flash which was a little banged up on mine and some of the paint had flaked off of the honeycomb but a couple puffs of flat duracoat will take care of that, it also includes a neat little adjustment tool, lens cloth and rubber caps. I really like the reticle, which is uncluttered and for me provides decently fast acquisition, ranging and adjustment. this is not a $1200 scope, don't expect it to perform like one, that said it performs d--- close, so close in fact that I wonder if I really should have bought those $1200+ scopes!?!? time will tell if this was a good investment or not, the warranty is not great and I hope I never need service or repairs, but for now I will enjoy this excellent optic and the extra mass in my wallet. I will follow this up later in the year once I have truly put it through its paces and let everyone know how its holding up.
