A hidden Gem.

I have had the Scope for about a week and these are my first impressions. the fit and finish are good, and what that means is that it isn't coated in some indestructible Teflon anti-glare SR71 blackbird nonsense, but it is also not a cheap painted body. it looks and handles every bit as nicely as my Vortex, Holosun or Leupold optics. The glass is crystal clear, and to my eyes; the difference between this and my higher end Vortex and Primary Arms Scopes is negligible at best. The eye relief is true to what is stated, as is the zoom and parallax. Mounting the scope and dialing in my zero, I found the turrets to be very positive and responsive, nice audible clicks, a little loose (tension) but no play in them so they seem trustworthy. I performed a tracking test and confirmed that the scope tracks 100% and zero holds 100%, at least under the mild recoil of .308. I haven't tried it in low light conditions, so I cannot comment or compare it yet in that regard. honestly it is every bit as nice as a scope costing 2-3 times as much. All of the components of the scope are of seemingly very high quality. this scope comes with extra turrets (cool colors, doubt I will use them), a set of 1.25" rings which are aluminum but seem to be very sturdy and well made (6-torx screws per ring), a kill-flash which was a little banged up on mine and some of the paint had flaked off of the honeycomb but a couple puffs of flat duracoat will take care of that, it also includes a neat little adjustment t

Incredible value for a bipod

Written on Feb 14, 2019

I have had this bipod for a couple of months now and I can give a full and honest review. This bipod is great for bench and prone shooting and holds up to recoil without a problem. I currently have this installed on an SR25/LR-308 platform, so im hitting it with diminished 308 recoil. The M-LOK unit attaches very easily and securely with the mounting points spaced to fully take up one slot, so even if it is jarred it will not move or shift, this is a great design. the legs are secure and fairly stiff which is great, there is no slop or rattling, they engage easily and securely in the angled positions and the extension detents. The finish is great all around and the hardware feels solid as well. The only negative criticism I have is that with the mounting point level with the bore axis, the rifle sits lower than a typical bipod (of the same length). With that said, what you gain is a sleek and more compact profile, this coupled with the fact that it can fold forward or backward leaves you with plenty of real estate on the hand-guard for a sold purchase if shooting off hand, or for additional accessories. Additionaly, for the hunters out there, this unit does not hang off the bottom of the rifle so I imagine it is less likely to snag or become entangled. This bipod is also exceptionally light for how robust and ridged it is. I'm truly amazed at how inexpensive these are, I have other Harris and Harris-style bipods as well as a pic rail aluminum UTG (the square leg one) and I mu

best bang for your buck

Written on Jan 15, 2019

So i will start with the pros, The buffer tube is great, i really appreciate the little notch for the buffer retainer. the construction and finish of the buffer tube are both fine and it functions without any issue on the three rifles i have them installed on. The spring is fine, just a standard carbine spring. I cant speak to the quality of the end-plate and castle nut as I haven't used them, however comparing them with other name brands, they appear the same and i havent noticed any issues with loose/poor fit (each build is different and i usually opt for some enhanced or lightweight option with regard to the EP+CN). Now to the cons, the buffer weight needs some improvement and that is why i only give it 4 stars. The major issue with the buffer is that they seem to have omitted the rubber spacers between the weights and this leads to noisy operation. I have experienced this with all of the trinity kits i have bought. this issue does not affect the function of these buffers and they run fine, also this can easily be remedied by getting rubber inserts at a local hardware shop and installing them in the buffer, but it is a point that they overlooked. So all points considered, this is a great deal. The overall function is every bit as good as any other on the market, be it another budget kit or a high end manufacturers branded kit. A truly terrific Value and even if you are buying it just for the tube and some spare parts.

Terrific furniture set

Written on Jun 13, 2018

This set is a really great deal. The stock is well constructed and the rubber overmolding has a nice texture and good placement for the cheek weld. The fit is nice and tight so no rattle or wiggle on the buffer tube and it latches in with a positive lock. The grip includes an incorporated trigger guard and has the same textured rubber as the stock and includes a nice storage compartment which seems to be water resistant. The forward grip as similar features as the other pieces, it's a forward grip. all the parts are of very high quality and seem robust. Another nice feature of this kit is that it comes with two butt pads which give you some flexibility with length of pull. Over all it's a really nice matching set at a great price point.

Best mags for the money

Written on Jun 13, 2018

A magazine is a magazine so it's only important whether they function correctly or not. I have never had a hexmag fail with any caliber I use or in any rifle I use it with. The 308 version is no exception to this, it functions flawlessly and the follower engages the bolt catch on empty every time. My only gripe is that the these fit very tight in the Aero M5 lower, a little sanding loosened it up a bit but still a tight fit and the mag won't drop free. I shoot from a bench so fo me it's not really an issue but is something to be aware of if you plan on building a 308 platform, particularly a carbine.

Nice comfortable grip

Written on Jun 13, 2018

So I have used several different grips over the years and this is the first rubber overmolded grip I have used and I have to say that it feels sturdy, fits my hand well and certainly maintains a positive purchase under the light recoil of .308 (semi auto platform). This grip is nice and simple with no storage compartment or other frills but it does include a rubber piece to fill the gap when using a standard trigger guard. The texture and pattern are quite nice as well especially if you are using hexmags.

Excellent improvement to the standard dust cover

Written on Jun 13, 2018

I have installed the strike industries dust covers on all of my AR platforms now because they work! I really like having parts that can be changed or replaced without disassembly. The quality of the part is exceptional and the fit is perfect. I have installed this particular version on an Aero M5 upper and It fit like it was designed specifically for it which delighted me. The detent locks it firmly in place and door functions smoothly. I highly recommend these.

Great safety for the price

Written on Jun 12, 2018

I have used a bunch of different ambi selectors and so far I like this one the most. Of course it's just personal preference of course but the features of this selector that I really appreciate are the 60/90 degree option which works great with Aero M4 and M5 lowers, the reversible levers are nice as the opposing sides have different textures. Another nice feature is the white dash which is a good visual indicator. Despite what the other reviewers have experienced, I have found operation to be smooth and comfortable and not at all stiff or clingy. The fit and finish is quite nice and this is a great low profile, light weight option. I will be using these and recommending them from this point forward.
