All around poor results. - VictOptics 1x35mm Red Dot Sight

Thought I'd give the budget brand a try. Big mistake.
First, the cross screws do not lie in a Picatinny slot so there's no way to make sure it doesn't move. Mind did not move on an AR.
Next, the first shots were two feet high and 9 inches left. OK, I can deal with that.
Then, adjusted it 14 clicks down and 7 clicks right (no discernable clicks felt)just to see how much change there was.
It printed a foot low and left did not change.
Then, adjusted it back up 7 clicks and 7 more clicks right. The group went up two inches and remained left as before.
Kept trying and experimenting and finally got the elevation fixed and grouping about an inch left (three of five shots).
Tried a clean target to shoot for reference. It shot 4 inches left and eight inches low.
I went home. If they had a zero star I'd give it that.
