Great bag, flexible in configuration. Very durable and has held up over time. Ample space in bag and compartments are well thought out. Would buy again. Looks like a normal backpack. Velcro makes it a customizable configuration.

Nice concealment bag. For what it’s intended it’s very good. The ability to quickly access firearm is great. The storage for other things not so much. I mean it’s good to some edc stuff but not really flexible enough or roomy enough for Say some snacks and and gym shorts and a T-shirt etc. I still like it a lot and use it when I don’t need to carry much. However if I needed some other things I’d use something else....
Best Used for:
- Concealment, access , small edc items

I was looking for a new bag for my SBR’s and found that this bag fits my mpx perfectly, with extra mags and room to spare. I like that it has 2 straps and doesn’t scream gun bag! Either going to the gym, on a walk or to the range.
Pros:
- Durability
- A lot of space

Great bag and quality but the main compartment holds much less than other “18 hour” bags. If you have much of anything in the side pockets, the bottle holders are useless. I’m a full time firefighter and carry a change of clothes with tennis shoes, this bag barely holds it. If I have more than 1 change of clothes, my shoes won’t fit in the bag. The bag is great quality but my 5.11 Covrt18 holds a lot more gear/clothes.

I love this pack. Very comfortable (I'm 6'1"), organization is well thought out, exudes quality craftsmanship. The only downside to this pack is the water bottle pockets. They really are suitable for an energy bar, especially if anything is stored in the side pockets underneath the water bottle pocket. I suggest putting your water bottle inside the back or clipped to the outside.
The built in organization makes it very easy to store and organize junk, electrical accessories, pens, knives, magazines and just about anything else you might carry on a regular basis. This is not a large main compartment to store tons of stuff but it also not a bulky bag. The ability to deploy the front stuff sack makes it easily expandable for temporary storage of a coat or package or whatever.
Optics Planet had a great price and very fast processing/shipping.
I wouldn't hesitate to buy another one, especially if they made the water bottle pockets larger.
Pros:
- Great built in organization
- Easy customization

Just received the Gamut today, but my first impressions are great.
The first thing I noticed was that that bag has some heft to it and I mean that in a good way. It just feels sturdy. Empty I believe it weighs 4 lbs. Great design features from the layout of the pockets to the shape of the bag to the way it feels on my back. The main compartment is spacious and even the concealed carry compartment was able to handle a Sig MPX pistol with an 8.5" barrel. It has a nondescript yet stylish look. It's longer than an average day pack- I measured it at about 21.5" externally laying flat, empty. The main pocket measures in at about 20.5" from top to bottom and the concealed pocket at about 18.5".
Saw it on the Optics Planet website for $139.99, had a coupon and free shipping, so got it for $125.99 out the door. Definitely a great value for this price.
I'm looking forward to running this backpack through its paces.

Lot of thought went into this pack to ensure that it meets the tactical needs of any operator/officer without overtly flagging or identifying the owner as such. I chose the red/black version. I would recommend a few more color variations to help conceal any affiliation.
Pros:
- Design and Engineering
- materials, construction

I originally purchased the bag because I wanted something that had a spare compartment to carry concealed when I could not have the firearm on my person. This bag is EXTREMELY well made and if it weren't so expensive, Id buy another one. I have a Swiss Gear backpack that I used to keep my laptop and some other things in and the straps felt somewhat weak--as if they could break under a heavier load. The Vertx bag is very rugged and I personally have used it for just about everything from dragging equipment to and from the range (lots of heavy stuff...) to using it for international travel. It is sturdy, comfortable, and very easy to organize.
Another feature that makes this bag worth the money is the fact that the main compartment opens up all the way flat, which makes packing and unpacking a breeze. It also has snaps to keep the bag from being unzipped all the way if for some reason the user does not want everyone seeing what he or she has in the bag. They really did think of everything when they put this bag together
Pros:
- compact
- rugged
- Sturdy
- Stylish
- Built to Last
- Easy to organize
