Good solid chest rig, magazine pouches a little tight when using magpul magazines. Plenary of admin pockets to store lights and extra batteries as well as First aid supplies. The radio pockets also come with Velcro and 550 cord keepers to secure your radio

Good, needs some modifications

Got this for $150 on Dvor.

Pretty similar to the Velocity systems gen 4, but doesn’t have all the buckles for the shoulder straps. Not a big deal, just means you have to pull it over your head and can’t attach it to a plate carrier. Also no big map pocket behind the magazines and no Velcro field back there.

It doesn’t like PMAGs. They snag too much. You’ll have to use smooth metal ones.

If you’re not a big guy, you’ll have trouble cinching this rig tight enough. For reference my chest is about 40”, waist 30-32”. I took a seam cutter to the stitching on the loops on the Tri glides, then pulled excess strap length through. This is how I’ve seen other straps done. Works like a charm so far.

The general purpose pouches on the sides are perfect for a double stack of ar15 magazines, or the compact Hyfin chest seals to make a mini IFAK.

A nice little piece of kit. Wouldn’t pay full $200 for it due to all the mods needed but it is good quality.

Vtac Chest Rig (Coyote)

by Jb, Verified Owner from TX, United States Written on March 21, 2022
This is a very well thought out chest rig. I ran around with it on for about 5 hours yesterday on a long rage day. It's comfortable, and the rig on its own can't weigh more than a few ounces. The admin pouches, the radio pouches and the mag pouches (and others) can serve a multiplicity of purposes as well. I use one radio pouch for a very minimalistic IFAK, the one on the other side I use either to hold spare mags or a range finder. The rest of the pouches I use for keeping a compass, notebook and pen, a utility knife and leather man. The pistols and rifle mag pouches seem kind of snug but they'll work fine and I didn't suffer any hang ups on mag changes or anything. I think compared to a Haley Strategic rig or something like that, I actually prefer this rig. Just feels and looks professional and well balanced, and while the pouches and layout are capable of holding and keeping a number of things, the rig doesn't tempt you to overburden yourself with unnecessary ****. Buy it and give it a shot, you won't regret it.

VTAC CHEST RIG

by Jordan, from NC, United States Written on February 12, 2021
Great chest rig, very light and comfortable for long range patrols, the only negative is the pistol pouches, they are to small and can be difficult to access when the rest of the rig is loaded down. Wish the system had an additional Velcro panel centered on the inside to add a dangler pouch.
Pros:
  • durable
  • light weight
Cons:
  • Pistol mag pouches
Best Used for:
  • Long range patrol
