Most Helpful Positive Review SIG Sauer P226 Mk25
I had been told that the Mk25 might not fit the TacLok holster, but they were wrong! IT WORKS GREAT!!! As if made specifically for this model! Haven't been able test it on a range yet, but expect a good experience. If not, I'll give a follow-up review. Pros: Laser/holster work great Cons: Would ...

Most Helpful Negative Review Problem with Holster for Sig P220
The X5L laser/flashlight is outstanding. Same width as my Sig P220. On/Off button can be reached with trigger finger. Pricey but I think it might give me the edge if the worst case happens in the nighttime. The holster is another matter, there is no retention! The retention clip rests on the sid...

Decent light & laser function, with a few design problems

by JM, Verified Owner from GA, United States Written on July 8, 2018
Ordered the X5L Gen2 green laser/light combo, for S&W M&P 40 full size (gen 1), with TacLoc holster included. Although the concept of a laser light combo with a fitted holster that activates the unit when dawn is a pretty nifty gadget, overall I am not impressed with this product. One of the biggest gripes that I have is that the light bezel is way too easy to remove. It only requires a 1/8 turn with very little pressure to remove the bezel, which is how the battery compartment is accessed. It is highly possible that this could occur from accidentally bumping the front of the unit on something, especially since the bezel protrudes beyond the end of the barrel. This would render both the light and the laser useless. A stronger spring or 1/4 or 1/2 turn design would have been more reliable.

The second gripe is that the product does not fit properly on the picatinny rail of the handgun. I tried this on both the full size M&P 40 as well as the Sig Sauer P226 Mk25. On both guns, the unit does not slide smoothly over the rail, and when tightened down, does not sit square on the gun. It appears that the distance between the rail clamps is too narrow, and also that the grooves in these clamps does not have the correct v angle. These issues cause the unit to sit canted to one side. There is no practical adjustability to correct this problem with the rail clamps. Once tightened down, at least everything feels secure. I had to make some large adjustments to the laser sighting (which wa...

Worth every penny!

by Nick N., from FL, United States Written on May 2, 2018
I've tried a few and this is by far the best in the market. There are two other products that are in this category: Surefire and Streamlight. First off; there is no match in the market for Viridian green laser. As far as light goes; Surefire and Streamlight have products with higher lumens, but that is just a marketing gimmick. Frankly, if you ever had to use your weapon to protect yourself at night; 200 lumens is more than enough. In fact, if there is too much light; you might give up your tactical advantage.
I bought mine with the intention of shooting plenty of rounds and putting the product through a real torture test, just to see if it would hold up. If it didn't; I would return it within 30 days. Well, I've owned my X5L Gen 2 for 5 months now and have shot at least 5000 rounds with the weapon that it is mounted on. Not a single hiccup. it is as sturdy as the first day. More importantly, after 5 months; I'm still on the first battery and it is going strong. Even though the Gen 3 is coming out (for $400 +); I'd rather get the Gen 2 again, since the strobe light on it is blinding.
Pros:
  • Amazing green laser
Cons:
  • None
Best Used for:
  • Home Defense

Viridian X5L Gen II Universal Green Laser Sight w/TacLoc Holster

by John, from LA, United States Written on February 1, 2018
Works well. Many options for lighting and laser. Easy to work. Only negative is the way the battery is held in place, during heavy training it could be possable to dislodge. Would recommend though. It would work well for home defense and a day at the range.

by ejkdp30, from MO, United States Written on December 21, 2017
very cool light laser very bright and green laser is great in the day time and love the tacloc holester when u draw your firearm it activates light laser holester the firearm and it deactivates it only gave it a 4 rating because of the fitment on my xdm suppressor ready 9mm had to have the front sight removed because the suppressor ready blade was to tall was hanging up in holester and it does not fit the rail very well at all it is tight but rails on light laser are cocked when tightened
Pros:
  • green laser is great for day or night
Cons:
  • does not fit flush and even on gun rail

Great Tactical light, strobe and Laser

by Steve D., from HI, United States Written on December 15, 2017
Brought one for my Glock 22 and liked it so much I bought another for my Springfield. Light/Strobe and Laser are Universial Mount ASN the holsters are designed for specific sidearms. Holster does not lock on the trigger guard, but on the X5L itself. Holsters hold it very securely with its retention feature. Turn on the strobe and Laser and holsters the weapon and it turns off... On the draw the strobe and Laser turns on instantly. No fumbling with switches. Many different strobe and light settings... Outstanding! No problems with holding zero.
Pros:
  • GREAT PRICE
  • well made
  • Secure retention
  • Instant on
  • Hold zero
  • May adjust holster cant
Cons:
  • Holster is not the slimest
Best Used for:
  • Home Defense
  • Concealed carry under jacket

Viridian X5L green laser and holster review

by Chad, Verified Owner from WA, United States Written on August 21, 2017
I own several X5L laser/lights. I've never had a problem with any of them functionally. The activation switch is in a real good spot above the trigger well. It is an excellent choice for CCW/ identification of potential threats. The green laser is excellent day or night. The unit is not too bulky or expensive either.
Pros:
  • Reliable, bright, compact, well made
Cons:
  • None
Best Used for:
  • CCW or home defense

Excellent Product Combo

by William Heard, Verified Owner from TX, United States Written on August 1, 2017
I purchased the Viridian X5L Generation II Green Laser Gun Sight w/ TacLoc Holster for my newly acquired Smith & Wesson M&P Ported 9mm with High Viz sights. The light and laser work great, and it makes the firearm seem even more intimidating. The TacLoc holster works fine, but it is not configured for the taller High Viz sights, so some slight modifications are in order. Blackhawk makes the TacLoc holster. The version included in the light package is a paddle holster. A lot of Blackhawk's holsters come with hardware to make it a paddle holster or a belt slide holster depending on your preference, but not the TacLoc. I have since ordered the belt loop adapter hardware from Optics Planet and I look forward to getting it very soon. Thanks for a great product at a great price!
Pros:
  • High quality at a great price
  • Very easy to adjust especially using a laser bore sight
Cons:
  • Needs belt slide adapter for holster
Best Used for:
  • Personal protection and home defense

GREAT Laser/Light Combo....

by Glory-Hound, from OK, United States Written on March 16, 2017
A good Laser/Light combo... however does not rest completely flush against trigger guard on picatinny rail like shown in picture. Actually sits slightly forward, just out of reach of your index finger. Also the TacLoc Holster IS ONLY FOR RIGHT HANDED FIRERS! I'm a Left handed firer and I assumed the holster was Ambi. It is not and Viridian does not make a TacLoc Holster at the moment for the X5L Gen II Laser that is Left Handed. The Laser/Light performs exactly as mentioned in the specs column. The battery is installed in the front behind the Flashlight Lens which twists very slightly and comes right off (seems flimsy and cheap). Over all you would think with the 300.00 + price tag that it would be a more precision product with a tighter fit, better battery lock, and wider variety of holster options for both left and right handed shooters.

Very good product

by oga83, Verified Owner from Var, France Written on November 1, 2016
It took 2 weeks to be delivered but it was worth waiting !
The laser is very bright and the range is good : More than 1000m at night.; ~100m in normal daylight; far less when it's sunny (25m on a white wall that is exposed to direct sun light).
Very easy to install and to adjust.
My P226-X5 fits perfectly into the holster but there is one issue : the ECR magnet seems to be a little misaligned : the laser does not always automatically turns off when the gun is inserted into the hoslter; the workaround is to pull the gun a few millimeters (while it's locked into the holster) : the laser turns off and won't turn on until you pull out the gun from the holster.

Great product!

by Brian, from CA, United States Written on September 3, 2016
The price was great for a green laser and LED light and a holster! Works perfect with my Sig. Multiple setting for the green laser and LED light. Easy to put on. It's light weight. The holster is okay, it doesn't look like your traditional holsters.
