Do not buy !!!!! - Vltor CASV-14: M14 Rail System

I purchased this to upgrade my Springfield SOCOM 16 and could not have been more dissatisfied. The profile of the rear mounting block did not match the profile of the receiver on the rifle , not even close . I called VLTOR thinking it may just have been a mistake . I kept getting directed to technical support where I would get “ Nicks “ voicemail . After , I kid you not , eight phone calls Nick called me back . He then proceeded to tell me that it was Springfields fault because their receivers “ varied “ in production . That is complete bullshit . I took the stripper clip guide and the VLTOR rear mounting block to a machinist and had their part machined to fit at my expense . I would then try and install it again . I am no firearms novice by any means . I am a professional carpenter and make my living with my hands . The front of the rail would not sit squarely on the end of the barrel . To make a long story short , I reinstalled all the factory parts and threw this POS in the garbage . I don’t think I’ve ever written a negative review in my life but Nick and the clueless people at VLTOR deserve it . I could not be more unsatisfied. Avoid at all costs .
