Quality rail mount
Easy to install with only minor modification to my Archangel stock (which VLTOR said is not compatible). Solid rail mount. Only "issue" is the angle of the rail. After mounting my scope with 0 MOA as well I had to top out my elevation to get zeroed at 100 yrds. The MOA reticle has out to 22 MOA fo...

DO NOT BUY !!!!!
I purchased this to upgrade my Springfield SOCOM 16 and could not have been more dissatisfied. The profile of the rear mounting block did not match the profile of the receiver on the rifle , not even close . I called VLTOR thinking it may just have been a mistake . I kept getting directed to technic...

Great option for the M1A
Took a few hours, some filling and sanding the the stock to get the correct fit, but once it was installed it created a really solid and low rail for my scope. Very tight groups. I the only down fall is no instructional videos for installation. The written instructions were adequate, but would have felt better seeing it before making the modifications to my walnut stock.
Pros:
- Solid build, best M1A scope solution available
Cons:
- Need to be comfortable filling and sanding to get the right fit
Best Used for:
- Used on a standard M1A
Would recommend: Yes
This thing is amazing!
The rail/hand guard looks amazing! The little bit of customization by my gunsmith was not difficult (I have the archangel stock and match barrel). Vltor says this is not compatible but works with some trimming. I couldn’t be happier
Pros:
- HIGHLY FUNCTIONAL
- Looks amazing
- it is a rare upgrade
Cons:
- needs some fine tuning to fit
- Needs trimming and figment for some models
Would recommend: Yes
Worth the wait and money!
Looked for almost a year for this rail system. Seems like VLTOR is not making many of these anymore. Instal required a lot of hammering, but after that it was simple. I really like my Socom 16 with this rail system now. IT'S BADASS!!!
Pros:
- Looks aggressive and allows a scope mounting option.
Cons:
- Instal isn't for beginners. The rail is expensive.
Best Used for:
- Springfield socom 16 scope mounting.
Would recommend: Yes
Solid platform, required modifications
Installed on my M1A scout squad with the factory synthetic stock, and for the most part very easy to install. However, the rear mounting block required modification as the angles on the rear mounting block were different than those on the stripper clip guide. This resulted in the top of the rear mounting block being too thick to slide into the stripper clip guide. Material was carefully removed from the rear mounting block with a file, then was tapped into place with a brass punch. Although I was able to make mine fit with no noticeable shifts on a leveled optic, having to physically modify it was very off-putting and as such I can only recommend this rail system for someone who is willing to make such modifications.
Pros:
- Solid Mounting
Cons:
- Modification needed
Would recommend: No
