Add this immediately - Volquartsen Firearms Extended Bolt Release for Ruger MK IV

This should have come with the gun. It is still a bit annoying but much better than the factory part. And truly, it is the guns only flaw in my opinion. It is stupid simple to replace. Just pull a grip panel, lift out the old and set the mew one in its place. Reset the grip and go. Done.
