Best trigger for Ruger Mark IV
The Volquartsen competition kit for the Ruger Mark IV is awesome! This kit is super easy to install and has a huge positive impact on trigger function. Before installing the kit my trigger was mediocre at best. I also had some extraction issues. After installing the kit my trigger is super light and I have had zero issues with extractions. Highly recommend for anyone looking to improve the performance of their Mark IV.

Night and day!
So first let’s talk install difficulty. For non professional gunsmiths. If a Glock drop in trigger is a 2 out of 10 in difficulty, this install is a 6-7 out of 10. A lot of parts to keep track of. I will say, the instructions are good. YouTube helps too. Now there is one major problem that many have run in to with this project. This problem is Ruger’s fault. The safety lever screw, where the removal is one of the first steps in this job, is overtightened from the factory. Mark IV Volquartsen Upgrade
I recently installed the Volquartsen Accurizer Kit on my Mark IV, and the difference is night and day. The trigger break is crisp, clean, and consistent, with a much more predictable reset than stock. It immediately tightened up my groups and made the gun far more enjoyable to shoot, especially during longer range sessions.
The install was a bit intense, but the video provided on their website made it much more manageable and kept everything on track.
Overall, the component quality is exactly what you’d expect from Volquartsen; top notch. Easily one of the best upgrades you can make to this platform.

Not for Old farts
I finally sent it off to Volquartsen for installation. I am 84 years old and thought I could do it, but my hands would not obey my commands. This unit has turned my Mk IV into a true target pistol.

Worth every penny! Completely transforms the feel of your pistol. So smooth.

Greatly improves trigger pull
Trigger upgrade: Reduced the trigger pull from 4.5 pounds to 2.25 pounds. Reduced my group size by 60%. A little tricky to install because of the small size of the parts and the limited space. I used a vise to hold the grip while doing the install. The extra "hand" was a definite help. There are several videos out there that show how to do the install that are better than the Volquartsen video ( but even that video is helpful.) Bolt upgrade: Can't tell if it improved anything or not. I haven't fired enough rounds yet to tell if I had any problems with soft strikes or failure to extract. I didn't realize it was part of the package (really just wanted to lighten the trigger pull). The extractor was the most difficult part, but not too bad with the vise to hold the bolt and letting me use both hands to manipulate the original extractor and plunger.

trigger kit is the best upgrade for my mark 4
This trigger kit transformed my ruger! I would 100% recommend this kit to anyone ..except the guys I shoot against lol. really great enhancement though for any mark 4.

installing trigger kit.
It took me a little over an hour to install the kit. Trying to figure out just exactly where the sear spring went was problematic. The volquartsen video is good but they juice it up by spinning the parts around in circles as they are going in to place making it difficult to see just what is happening.
There are several good videos on line that are very helpful. I found installing the hammer the hardest part. You have to slide some of those parts together sort of above the receiver before you slide them into place.
Ended up with a nice trigger. Almost no creep, light pull and very little over-travel.
