Most Helpful Positive Review Fixed all cycling issues.
I was so disappointed to get a 15-22 only to have cycling issues no matter what I did. No matter what ammo I tried. I replaced the extractor, plunger and spring by other brands w no improvements. Bought the comp bolt and took it to the range and had very minimal issues. Came home cleaned my arm up and oil her and took her back out. A little over 300 rounds and didn't have 1 single issue and I tried multiple ammo ranging from 36 to 40 grain. I couldn't be happier. It took my disappointment and turned it into joy and made my arm 100% functional and reliable. If you're looking at this, debating o...

Works like it should from the factory only better

This bolt assembly is one part of a recipe to turn a mediocre M&P 15-22 Sport, into a Super Sport. Adjust the ejector to ride as close to the bolt as possible without contact and you get the best running fun gun money can buy. The ejection pattern is perfectly consistent. Add a competition aftermarket trigger, Magpul furniture, and the available ambi controls... If you know, you know! Highly recommend this bolt. Oh, and a red extra power recoil spring can also be an improvement towards eliminating bolt bounce.
Pros:
  • Works amazing with ejector tuning
Cons:
  • None
Best Used for:
  • FUN or Competitive shooting

Volquartsen Firearms Smith & Wesson M&P 15-22 Competition Rifle Bolt

by Richard Betancourt, from FL, United States Written on March 30, 2025
Volquartsen Firearms Smith & Wesson M&P 15-22 Competition Rifle Bolt I would love to get as a good review but I'm returning it back off the clinic it fired 10 rounds and then after that it just got going click not heating the primer on the rim and what I found out is the firing pin was chipped and another problem it wasn't seating right where the injectors at so I don't know if I got a bad one or what I put back my original ball and rifle works just fine now so I'm not very happy with this

Have had this installed for a few weeks now and found it great. provides a lighter weight bolt which for me made it work better with weaker ammo.

great upgrade

by mountain man, Verified Owner from OR, United States Written on September 10, 2024
it used to have a sluggish action for a .22, it is a ripper now. feeding issues have disappeared. brass all landed in the same spot instead of scattered. the bolt isn't even broken in yet and i'm already loving it. the picture doesn't do the product any justice, the bolt is polished to a black mirror finish. clean with a single wipe. i ordered a spare recoil lug for $5.27, so i didn't have to tear the stock bolt down to put the new one together. that way i also have a complete spare bolt ready to go.
Pros:
  • All
Cons:
  • None
Best Used for:
  • everything
