The new bolt latch is nearly identical to the original. My first impression was that the new latch was heavier steel, but the mic says otherwise. Weight is different by only two hundredths of a gram, and the old piece has six years of wear. If there is a difference, it might be in the hardness of the steel, and I have no means to test that. It definitely works as well as the original used to work, and hopefully will act as a permanent replacement. Only time will tell.
