Looks great so far

I ordered the VDI Brawler slide assembly after a bit of web investigation. It was back ordered for some time, but OpticsPlanet stayed on top of it. Unfortunately it did not arrive until after the holidays and so far I have not been able to take it out to a range and really try it out.

Fit, finish, and machining looks outstanding and it mates well to my Glock frame as well as a Timberwolf frame. Later I will try it on a Polymer80 frame as well.

I am building a few Frankenglocks using Timberwolf and Polymer80 frames because I really do not like the feel of the standard Glock frame. I have never gotten used to the bulge at the bottom rear of the grip.

I was attracted to the VDI slide because of the shape and ergonomics also. I like the beveled front end of the slide, which is similar to the CZ P 09 and P 10C, and to Sig pistols such as the 320. This is probably more of a comment about esthetics rather than function. I think square cross-section Glock slide is probably fine if they would add cocking serrations that are more aggressive and have them on the front of the slide. In any case, on the VDI slide there are serrations on front and back, and they are reasonably aggressive. The cocking serrations on the front wrap over the top which seems to help. I have not done a wet, oily, or sweaty hand test, but I think the front serrations in particular are nice. Later I may add an optic on the back of the slide, which will be one more reason the front serrations will be important.
