I'm always a cheapie when it comes to accessories but I have a Vortex Razor Binoc and plan on buying the Razor HD spotting scope. That's quite an investment so I don't want to drop it or fight a tripod when using them. When I say this arrangement it looked like the right tool for the job. I hunt and photograph so I know how important it is to be able to look where you want to look when you want to do it. The ball head on this arrangement is awesome and gives you plenty of control when using it. It is very fluid and easy to use. It locks in any position you want just by releasing the squeeze handle. I couldn't figure out from the online pictures how the spotting scope mounted but now that I have it is very easy. Another quick mount is included in the kit and screws onto the end of the squeeze handle. This allows another camera or scope that has tripod mounting treads on the bottom to be quickly mounted or removed. If I would have bought this tripod years ago, instead of all the cheap ones I have bought, I would have probably saved money over the long run. Highly recommended if you can afford it. Very strong unit.
