Most Helpful Positive Review Great for short-range use, or as an aperture-sight alternative.
There are some oddities with my vision that make it difficult to use iron sights on long guns, and red dots don't work either. As a result, I have used these on a couple shorter-range long guns. May not be as quick as a good aperture, but I can actually see the reticle clearly, and having the target in the same focal plane as the aiming device helps a lot on longer shots. Can still easily track the whole scene with both eyes open. The scope is light and compact, so it doesn't look completely ridiculous on traditional long guns. For the price these have been on sale lately, you can't really bea...

Great crystal scope!!

by Shyguynd, from ND, United States Written on November 21, 2016
Great scope for a great price! I put it on my muzzle loader and it worked flawlessly! I would highly recommend this scope! It adjusted properly and had me hitting zeros in no time! The price was great and was clearer than my swift that I bought 2 years ago!

Clarity, Accuracy, expect nothing less from Vortex.

by Lee Blackman, Verified Owner from TX, United States Written on October 5, 2016
I first got to use one of these at the 2016 NRA World Championship on the Magnum Research MLR22AT during the Small Bore stage, shooting 50 yards off hand at a bullseye. My first thought was these scopes were a lot more expensive than they actually were. The glass clarity is amazing just like every Vortex. I was amazed when I took the turrent caps off so see how robust and solid the adjustment knobs were.

I had so much fun shooting that stage that I purchase the exact same rifle, and followed suit with the exact same scope and rings. I'm super happy with my purchase. Seriously, you get way more than you pay for with this scope. Keep in mind there is no magnification, but where it fits its specific application, you have a clear sharp crosshair. Its a solid choice.

There is no other scope on the market anywhere that can be compared in quality to price. Clear edge to edge, and I do mean clear...
Pros:
  • value
  • Clarity
  • Robust
  • Good field of view
  • solid adjustments
Cons:
  • Its a 1x scope
  • The crosshairs are thick
Best Used for:
  • Anywhere a red dot would be used but a crosshair is preferred
  • Rimfire bullseye where magnification not allowed

Vortex Crossfire II 1x24mm Muzzleloader Riflescope w/ V-Plex Reticle

by Foss1lHunter, from OK, United States Written on December 13, 2015
I purchased this after my TC Muzzleloader scope failed. The ocular glass became loose and slanted. I wasted ammo sighting it in before the discovery! This is a very nice muzzleloader scope and it is legal where magnifications are not allowed. Clear and bright glass out to 100 yards! Looking forward to next season.
Pros:
  • bright and clear glass
Cons:
  • None.
Best Used for:
  • muzzleloaders
