This sight was listed as new but was clearly used when I received it. There are scratches on the sight and the battery isolator was missing, and the battery was dead.
Vortex Defender Enclosed
I would highly recommend this optic. This is the third unit I’ve purchased from Vortex Optics in the past two years, and each has met or exceeded my expectations. One detail I particularly appreciate is the inclusion of properly labeled mounting screws, clearly identified by size and intended application—an attention to detail that stands in contrast to some competitors, such as Holosun, where compatibility can feel less straightforward.
While this sight has not yet been subjected to heavy use, my prior experience with Vortex products gives me confidence in its durability and overall build quality. Additionally, the clarity and sharpness of both the red dot and circle reticle are impressive, especially at this price point. Considering the performance offered relative to cost, the Defender represents an exceptional value and is difficult to surpass in its category.

Very nice red dot for my pistol. Mounting was very easy and straightforward. Only have about 200 rounds through it but held zero so far.

I bought this to replace a 507k because of the enclosed emitter and bigger window. It seems like a great sight, quick to find the dot and nice size window for a carry gun.

Fits well on glock 48 mos
It fits great on the g48 mos and seems to hold zero. I don't have any reason to believe the durability is lacking but if it is, the vortex warranty will take care of it. The only thing that could be seen as a negative is the physical size is bigger than the eps carry so it is not as concealable.

Great optic
I had the open defender ccw on my edc it worked great, but in my line of work dust ect. Would end up on the inside of the lens. It was difficult to clean. When the enclosed emitter came out thought I would give it a try. Has been great I give it a quick swipe with my shirt when I get home and its ready for the next day

Vortex Defender-CCW
I put this on my P365 in place of a Holosun 507K I like this better because of a bigger window and is easier to acquire the dot. So far Im pleased with optic and all the mounting screw sets and accessories that came with optic.

Very consistent
This will be my second CCW. Had to get another one. Just like the first one, buttons easy to use, holds zero, dust is a nonissue, comes with lots of screws for mounting.

Great First Enclosed Dot – Direct Fit on My CZ
This is my first enclosed red dot, and I’ve been very impressed so far. The window is extremely clear and noticeably larger than I expected, which makes target acquisition quick and intuitive.
I chose the Vortex Defender-CCW over the Holosun 407K because of the RMSc footprint. It mounted directly to my CZ without the need for a plate, which kept the setup simple and low profile.
The optic feels solid and well built, and the controls are straightforward and easy to use. Overall, it’s a clean, durable option that fit my pistol exactly the way I wanted.
