This will be my second CCW. Had to get another one. Just like the first one, buttons easy to use, holds zero, dust is a nonissue, comes with lots of screws for mounting.

This is my first enclosed red dot, and I’ve been very impressed so far. The window is extremely clear and noticeably larger than I expected, which makes target acquisition quick and intuitive.

I chose the Vortex Defender-CCW over the Holosun 407K because of the RMSc footprint. It mounted directly to my CZ without the need for a plate, which kept the setup simple and low profile.

The optic feels solid and well built, and the controls are straightforward and easy to use. Overall, it’s a clean, durable option that fit my pistol exactly the way I wanted.

Easy to install, easy to operate, side-mounted battery, and a very crisp dot. Great value as compared to other enclosed emitters. Highly recommend.

Vortex hit it out the park with this one. Enclosed for a great price. More durable than the new COA out the gate.

I just want to start off by saying that I want to thank opticsplanet every other website online dealer has them a lot more expensive they have a great deal and on top of that they gave you a 14% discount you can't beat that I also want to say that this red dot severely seriously impressed me I mean I'm just telling you the God's honest truth I was a little hesitant on buying this type of red doves I'm not really into closing emitter red dots on handguns on rifles totally different story but I'm handguns I'm not too crazy about them but this one so far has impressed me the build quality is absolutely outstanding and I mean that I really like I said I was hesitant on buying this because I really do like American made products I know this one's made in China so I'm like well I heard a lot of good reviews on it let me just bite the bullet and see how it is but let me tell you something I definitely recommend it seriously impressed the dot is so crisp and clear and I have a stigmatism so it's impressive the circle is really crisp and clear I like it so far the glass is outstanding I put it on my Kimber KDs 9 c and like I said I'm really happy with it and I want to thank vortex for making such a great product I also want to thank opt to explain it for giving me such a great price and the 14% discount I definitely recommend it

As usual, great service by OpticsPlanet! This is a solid optic for a micro carry. This one is mounted on a daily carry PSA Micro Dagger.

I returned the optic, begrudgingly, because the ride height covered the nice irons of my 1400 dollar 365 x macro legion. I love those irons and require that level of redundancy on all my pistols with optics. That said, this Vortex optic is awesome! In every category Vortex DESTROYS Sig (x compact enclosed) micro red dot. Sig disrespects their customers and Vortex proves it between these two at comparison. This Vortex optic has excellent glass, much better controls, great MRS, super crisp reticle, no parallax, a larger window, daylight brightness without the weird blue tenting, seemingly much more durably constructed and it’s all those things for $150-200 less than the Sig x compact enclosed. When I put those two side by side, it made me detest the Sig version for how much better Vortex did everything about this optic except it’s one critical flaw. So I had to keep the sig unfortunately. I hope Vortex fixes this issue with a gen 2 and continues to expose Sig’s flagrant disrespect and cr*p quality. Final note, every optic should be made in America. I was under the impression vortex optics were, however this defender ccw says “made in china” boldly on the bottom. Would pay sig level money for made in America on the bottom of that thing. Lower the ride height to accommodate redundant iron use on ccw pistols and this is a perfect optic. God Bless!

This sight is a little larger than most non-enclosed sights. One of the benefits is the water and dust resistance. Another is side mounted battery that is easy to change without removing the optic. Buttons to adjust brightness are usable without worry of hitting while carrying. The mounting screws are counter sunk which helps hold zero on the slide if it gets bumped. Nice window to view. Works good on my H&K CC9.
