I recently upgraded my range pistol with the Vortex Defender-ST 1x23mm Reflex Sight (3 MOA), and it has completely exceeded my expectations. If you are looking for a red dot that can handle serious abuse while maintaining a perfect zero, this is it.

Excellent red dot at a great price. Very clear lens with a crisp 3 MOA dot and easy to use. Highly recommend.

Picked the ST over the CCW since the frame of this pistol is a little larger than a concealed carry and nothing wrong with having a larger window to look through. Take your time mounting it and check all the screw options you will have. The ST comes with a wide assortment of screws with the bags labeled for size and which brand they will fit. The M&P comes with its own assortment of screws and multiple mounting plates. I ended up using the M&P hardware. The #6 mounting / spacer plate and the type B screws. These screws are a little longer than the Vortex recommended screws and having a few more threads in the hole is good for me. I also triple checked to make sure the screws did not protrude into the slide opening when installed and torqued. The only down side of this ST is the awkward battery position and it’s not an enclosed emitter. But for more $, Vortex makes that style Defender too!

Exactly what I would expect from Vortex. Quality products that fit my needs and budget. Their optics come with a variety of screws to accommodate most applications. Even includes the mounting plate for Glock installations. Very well packaged. Shout out to Optics planet for offering a variety of discounts and free shipping when applicable. Highly recommended.

Excellent product great quality. I’ve tried a lot of other red dots. But everything comes with this to get it mounted it even comes with properly label screws so if you have a Glock MOS guess what it comes with the plate. Oh you’re wondering what screws they’re properly labeled no more having to google to find out what thread and length you need vortex think of it all. Don’t even get me started on the forever warranty.

The new Vortex Defender series of optics have become my go to pistol optic. The price is very reasonable but the performance is the best. Glass is clear and dot quite crisp. The defender is also very tough in normal use. I do not drop test nor abuse my optic, but use them efficiently racking slide off the optic. Vortex tops of this great product with all the various screws sizes right in the box. Other manufacturers need to step up in this aspect. I have not had to search for proper screws sizes. The Delta Point Pro footprint is a bonus, it is narrow compared to the RMR allowing better fit on narrow slides. The 4 support posts of the DPP also make it even better.

I will choose the Defender whenever looking for new micro red dot.

Had it mounting on my Glock 17 that was not MOS. It sighted in easly and 17 rounds at 7 yards in 2.5 inch group. Thus the entire target center is gone. Now placed on my Glock 47 MOS with same results.
I love this Red Dot would never buy anything else. For as long as the battery last replacing it isn't the fastest but i don't have to rezero it!!
Shake awake is great and adjustable dot intensity is wonderful. Did i mention the life time warranty!

Used the MOS plate to mount it to my G19X and I have1500 rounds through it so far with no issues at all. It’s a very nice crisp red dot and has held zero very well at 15 yards. This is my daily CC and some of the finish is wearing off a little bit on the corners, but I kinda of like the added rugged look of it.

Bought this to go on a Canik Elite Combat. Love it great optic. Shake awake and large enough window for quick target acquisition. Has maintained Zero thur 3k rounds so far.
