Stew's Review of Vortex Diamondback 10x42mm Binoculars
I am very pleased with these binoculars. When I originally saw them at Scheels, I compared them to several other brands and models that they had in store. I liked these binoculars over any of the others I tried out, and they were one of the cheapest I looked at. The glass is of really good quality and the picture is crisp and clear. It is very easy to adjust the focus and get a clean image at pretty much any distance. They are relatively light weight and sleek, especially compared to the Bushnell 10x50 I replaced with these. The neck strap that they come with is padded, wide, and really comfortable compared to straps that you usual get with a pair. I can hike for hours with them around my neck without getting uncomfortable, but I will most likely get some shoulder straps for it thought just to make them even easier to carry. I like the tethered lens caps that come with the package as well. I always manage to lose my lens covers, so having them tethered to the binoculars is a plus. The case that comes with them is very nice as well. It is a molded hard case that is ridged, but not padded. I would not want to drop the case with the binoculars in it. I keep them in my truck's center console, so the case is good to protect it from things shifting around or me dropping something in to the console. The last great thing is the VIP lifetime warranty that vortex offers which no matter how the break they will repair or replace it. Overall I am very happy with my purchase and would definitely recommend these to anyone looking for a quality pair of binoculars without braking the bank.
