Most Helpful Positive Review Hands Down the "Value for the Dollar" Winner
You will not find a higher quality binocular for under $300. I spent an immense amount of time researching and comparing different brands, especially Leupold and Nikon. Leupolds are great and all, but you don't get what Vortex gives for the same $. I have a set of Nikon bincos too, and they have been great, in fact I've really liked them, but they are nowhere near the Vortex, specifically speaking the clarity of the glass. On my last hunting trip out west I spent hours each day looking through these without eye strain, viewing animals (deer) out to 2 miles without problem. I haven't had t...

by Mikie, from CA, United States Written on May 25, 2020
My first purchase from Optics Planet, my first Vortex brand item and my first 12x power binoculars... couldn't be better! Nice bright clear lenses and easy focus. Makes spotting distant game much easier than I have experienced before. Thanks.
Pros:
  • Clear and easy to use
Cons:
  • None

Cant beat your bang for buck.

by chris, from CA, United States Written on August 23, 2019
I actually got them for under $200. I was pleasantly surprised. I was replacing an old pair of Zeiss that was passed down to me, but disappeared. Over $1K to replace was not going to happen so I started looking at many makers. I settled on the Diamondback cuz they were out of stock on the Viper. I dont need anything better, as im older and my eyes can only see so much anyway. The optics are great. My only gripe is they could adjust a bit narrower. The dioptic adjustment is easy and precise. I water tested and passed. I shock tested (dropped from 6ft) and passed. low light no problem, pass. Unless youre adverse to the size and are sniping Jihadists at a over a mile away, these will do fine. Id ultimately prefer a single lens spotting scope, but then again, I dont hunt anymore. I use them for sailing. Low glare.

Awesome Clearity

by Pops, from CA, United States Written on August 1, 2019
Never dreamed they would be this clear. No matter what distance you look at, the clarity stays the same. These are worth much more than this price. Light weight weight, yet very rugged. Well balanced feel while holding them to your eyes. Can use them with or without glasses. This was important to me because I wear glasses and hated to remove them every time I looked through my old pair. I’ve looked through many binoculars trying to decide, and when I got the chance to look through these, there was no doubt which ones I was buying. O/P had them to me in just a few days. Couldn’t be happier.
Pros:
  • Light weight, tough and rugged, warranty, easy to focus, and many more
Cons:
  • None
Best Used for:
  • Anything that requires a closer look

Great Value

by oneasterisk, from WY, United States Written on October 8, 2018
Great optics for the money. Perform great in low light. No problem with extra magnification if you don’t wear glasses. Eye relief is a little tight for someone with glasses. No problems holding them steady.

Nice but check your idp first.

by Dave, Verified Owner from NC, United States Written on August 12, 2018
I am very satisfied with these. A few drawbacks I want to point out. Basically it boils down to the design of the large objectives, this is my first pair of 50mm binos so maybe I am just learning. IDP is limited due to the objectives. Running them at minimum IPD, the lens covers must be staggered since the bells are so close. This also makes installing the bino mount a slower process.

Old man needs help seeing!

by Old Red, from TX, United States Written on June 10, 2018
This is just right for us older men that are having a eye sight problems. I love my new binoculars I can hardly wait for deer hunting season to start. I hunt in New Mexico in the mountains and I need a lot of help to see a long way out. Most shots are over 200 yard and up to 600 yards. I need the best binoculars I can get to see the horns.
Pros:
  • Can see horns at long ranges
Cons:
  • A little large
Best Used for:
  • In vehicle to spot deer and to see if deer has horn and how many

12X50 Vortex Binoculars.

by Y8s, from TX, United States Written on June 5, 2018
These Vortex binoculars are great. I own several of their scopes, which I really love and when I decided to buy a new pair of binoculars I knew I couldn't go wrong with the Vortex brand. I was pleasantly surprised with the low light capibility of these binoculars. I like the attached lens covers and of coarse the lifetime warranty.

Vortex Diamondback 12~50mm Review

by J. Howlett, Verified Owner from FL, United States Written on March 1, 2018
Very high quality binoculars. Solidly built. Nice fit and finish. Not heavy, can easily be carried all day. Crystal clear at distance. Only Con is looking at foliage at a distance, there is a fair amount of CA for both front lit and back lit scenes. I’m very satisfied with this product. Will mostly be using these at the range, but will also be carrying them when I’m out hiking for viewing wildlife. Amazing for under $300. Seem like a great value for the money.
Pros:
  • Solid build. Nice fit and finish. Great value. Easily carried
Cons:
  • None
Best Used for:
  • Range. Nature
