Most Helpful Positive Review Great optics and features but...
I would give this scope 5 stars for everything but on closer inspection I found a couple of minor faults: There should be 4 screws that holds something internally but one is missing. It looks like there is some glue or something in its place. Also when zoomed right out there is a slight cresc...

Most Helpful Negative Review Clear glass and decent build quality, but falls short
The scope is clear and bright, but the ocular lens (rear eyepiece) is way too big for a little rimfire scope. It makes it tough to mount as low as I prefer. The finish looks nice, but it scratches way too easy. I mounted this scope and a Leupold Freedom rimfire scope on different rifles on the same...

Great scope, great buy

by Rickn, Verified Owner from MI, United States Written on February 6, 2026
I have been wanting to try a Vortex scope but never seemed to have the rifle for one. I have typically either bought something very inexpensive like a Tasco or BSA, etc. to match an inexpensive gun, or a high quality Leupold for a nicer rifle. The Vortex falls right in the middle and doesn't seem to fit either category. That actually turns out to be its strong point. The optics are beautiful and comparable to Leupold but at a much lower price point. The price is only slightly more than the cheaper scopes with MUCH better optics and a crisp easy to see reticle. If you plan to be looking down the scope more than once a year, do yourself a favor and spend a little bit more on a Great product. My only criticism is the removable scope covers. They fit very loosely around the objectives. I actually question if they are the correct size for my scope. I will probably replace with flip-ups. I would have gladly paid $10 more for the scope if they included flip up caps. The scope requires the high scope rings for mounting. Not a downside, just be sure to buy the high mounts with this scope. With the mediums the rear objective was sitting right on the top of the gun. I am also not sure if 7x magnification is going to be enough. I put this on a .17 rifle with the idea of being able to shoot squirrels at 100 yards. At that distance I will probably wish I had 9x or 12x magnification. Fortunately, the optics are so clear that I should still be able to pick out targets at tha...

Excellent Rim Fire

by Robert Simmons, Verified Owner from TX, United States Written on October 18, 2025
Easy to mount, switched from adjustable parallax to this fixed models.
The clarity was top notch, easy to site in and the ability to lock in your turret and swap back is nice feature. Shoot over 250 rounds first day out after getting sighted at 100 yards was shooting 1” grouping. I will add until this purchase I was a hand gun shooter so 100 yards is a change.
Pros:
  • Windage adjustment
  • lens clarity
  • easy of mounting
Cons:
  • 7 power

Great scope

by Aaron., Verified Owner from OH, United States Written on February 2, 2025
Bought this to put on an accurized 10/22, and it was exactly what I expected from a vortex dimondback series scope. The lens is clear and the retical is a traditional duplex, which is fine for my application. Vortex never diasapoints.
