I bought this for someone who wears glasses, based on the specs for eye relief (19.3 mm). She liked them & found them easy to use with glasses. I don't wear glasses, and found the eye relief too long. They provide a normal image if I touched the top edge of the extended eye cups to my brow, but otherwise, the sight picture was just not right. Since they're not for my use, it isn't a problem, but I wouldn't pick these for myself.
This issue should not be interpreted as a ding against the Vortex binocs. The optics were clear, the sight picture bright, the adjustments fine. I like the lens protection for both objective & ocular lenses, the protective coating, and the carrying case. However, they're not quite as compact as others I looked at. I bought two binocs for her to try, these and the Leupold BX-1 Rogue Compact. She preferred the Vortex by a slight margin. I preferred the Leupold; smaller, a bit lighter, and better eye relief for my use. Optical quality was a toss up.

Incredible value for the high quality. Crystal clear and easy to focus/set up. Light weight and perfect size for pocket or back pack. Used it on a trip to Israel recently and had no problems whatsoever.

Theses binoculars have the basics covered for quality, phase coated, fully coated lenses. But the body is somewhat lacking in quality. Anyway, their is still a place for binoculars that do not cost too much and you do not have to bother caring for. I will use them for ball games, hunting and I do like a size camera that I can carry easily.

I have DiamondBack 10x42's. They are OK.. but they are not as sharp they should be out at distances. WAs comparing the 8x28mm vs the 10x42mm checking out a local landmark pinetree that's 200yds away. The 8x28mm looked sharper and clearer so sent back my 10x42's and asked them to re-inspect. They sent me totally new pair of 10x42's at no charge. Think I'll be continuing on wit using the Compact. Can't get the pine-yard-load lf

Decent optics, and okay build quality. Not in the same league as any of the high-end binos, but they are lightweight and are a good value at this price point. A good binocular for traveling where they might get abused, lost or stolen. Serviceable but not a family heirloom.
