Fair quality for a lower end bino, good value overall - Vortex Diamondback 8x32 Binocular D-3208

I purchased these online, sight unseen, after reading all the rave reviews, suffice to say that those reviews skewed my rather lofty expectations. For the sale price, these are ok binos but they are no way as great as the vast majority of reviews state. They have a little more fuzziness around the perimeter of the glass then I’m accustomed to, which I find to be a distraction, resulting in a sense that the entire view is less clear. Whether this observation is real or imaginary, you will have to decide for yourself. I do not find them very comfortable, they are acceptable for quick views but sustained glassing would be annoying. As stated by many, the objective lens covers are prone to falling off constantly, to clarify, the lens cover stays put when covering the lens, but the setup that is supposed to retain the cover when the cover is removed from the lens easily allows the cover to slide of the binocular. Overall, for the sale price, they are a good value; just don’t anticipate getting the clarity of higher end binos.
