These are the best binoculars I have ever had. The viewing adjustment is easy, the two sides come together for a clear view. I no longer have to look through one eye. The case can strap to your chest, great for canoe, kayak and hiking.
Pros:
- Lightweight
- Optics, superior focusing ability
- The case with harness
Best Used for:
- Looking at things far away
- Sporting events, bird watching, and all outdoor activities

I got this item a year ago for Christmas and they are great. I purchased the ODMOD version at the great price of $143 for my Naturalist daughter's birthday. I wasn't sure what this version included so I purchased the Glasspack kit. This binocular DOES come with the Glasspack kit which is a chest harness case and lens covers. Oh well, I did get a great deal!

These binoculars are a great option for anyone on a budget or just looking to have a cheap pair in the house. The quality and level of adjustments offered this pair is really nice for the price point, and the carrying case with straps is a nice feature so they're ready to use right out of the box

Extremely satisfied. These are exactly what I was hoping for, and Optics Planet had them for a price that I couldn't resist.

Spouse is a birder who uses a camera. I'm going to use this so we can do it together, plus standard travel / cruises. I've never had binoculars before because of near-sightedness. Now these work fantastic after cataract surgery.
I got a pair at this level because I couldn't tell the difference with more expensive binoculars, but I could with cheaper ones. I also wanted ones where I didn't have to worry that much about them dropping, breaking, losing, getting stolen, or losing a friendship after loaning them out. This $200 price point was just right for that.
The harness that comes with the case is pretty much useless, but the neck strap and the case itself are fine. So that works out. Hey, if the harness works for you, consider it a bonus.
Pros:
- good quality
- good value
- Nice form factor / size
Cons:
- harness not user-friendly
Best Used for:
- Travel
- Birding
- General Purpose

Vortex products are consistently top quality. I have purchased several rifle scopes also, and I am completely satisfied with them.

I usually don't buy optics online, however the reviews were good and so was the price. We use these primarily for watching our bird feeder and general snooping around...not bedroom windows though. Good product and good price point.

The best binoculars that I have to compare these to, are Nikon Prostaff 3s on Nikon Prostaff 7s, all 10x42mm. My 7s are much clearer than my 3s but are also larger. The Vortex Diamondbacks impressed me because they are much smaller than my 7s, slightly smaller than my 3s, but have a slightly brighter picture than my Prostaff 7s. The Prostaff 7s and Vortex are really close in brightness and clarity, but the Vortex is just a little better. The focus knob is a little smoother and easier to turn on the Vortex and the lens caps fit snug unlike Nikon's that fall off. The Nikon's have more comfortable eye cups and a rubberized grip that I like but if I was going hunting, I'd most likely carry the Diamondbacks due to the smaller size. I actually bought these as a Christmas present for my brother-in-law and commented in front of my wife that they were better than my Nikons. Christmas morning, I had a pair too. You also can't go wrong with Vortex's lifetime warranty.
Pros:
- Small
- clear & bright image
