Pleasantly suprised - Vortex Diamondback HD 20-60x85mm Spotting Scopes

I’d like to preface this review by saying I’m not a scope/optics snob and didn’t have $1,000 bucks to drop on a top tier spotting scope. So, I decided to go with a budget option.

However, I can tell you that it was very easy for me to clearly and quickly identify and focus on targets out to 740 yards. I can easily make out vapor trails of 5.56 rounds and larger and impacts on steel and paper.

In summary, I was pleasantly surprised with the quality of glass for the price I actually paid. There’s some fisheye effect out at distance but it’s not bad enough to stop me from buying it again.

If you’re looking to get in the game and don’t have a spotting scope, don’t overlook the Diamondback. It’s more than enough to get the job done without breaking the bank.
