jb4lcm's Review of Vortex Diamondback Tactical FFP 4-16x44mm 30mm Tube First Focal Plane Rifle Scope
At first I LOVED this scope. I had 1.6 MOA grouping at 200 yards with 10 rounds!
GUN: Tikka T3X Lite .308
After around 150 rounds it all fell apart. Groupings were 4 MOA at best at 100 yards with none of them close to each other. I was testing different rounds and went back to the round that gave me the 1.6MOA at 200 yards which was the Barnes VOR-TX 130 gr tipped ... nope. It was a mess.
I then removed the Vortex scope and put my old Bausch & Lomb 4x9x50 on the rifle and regained the tight grouping. 3 separate groups of 5 rounds with ALL groups having 3 rounds TOUCHING. Something came loose within the Vortex. I have sent them a request for warranty return.
Note: The turrets also seem a bit mushy. Soft clicks during adjustments and the Alignment dot/line is not on the line of the turret - it is in the middle of the turret hash marks so it's difficult to know if you are to the left of zero or the right. It would be nice if the turrets lined up with the alignment dot/line.
