Very durable - Vortex OPMOD Diamondback Tactical 6-24x50mm Rifle Scope, 30mm Tube, First Focal Plane (FFP)

Well i haven't used the scope on a weapon yet but I HAVE used this scope AS a weapon... I ordered this scope literally a week ago and It arrived 3 days ago. Sooo after it arrived I unboxed it and checked it out. Overall quality seemed better than I expected. I took it outside and checked out the glass which left little to be desired. Perfectly good glass. The turrets are also very decent. There is a slight amount of mush to them but that's being picky (they are perfectly adequate with positive clicks). The zoom and parallax adjustments were pretty tight but like many scopes I worked the zoom over a bit and it started to "break in" a little better.... now let's talk about the durability.. after i checked out the scope initially I set it on my nightstand. Later that night I decided to go to the garage and install it on one of my rifles so I grabbed the scope and headed to the garage. I walked through the breezeway and saw that the door was already cracked open and i heard rustling around inside the garage. I assumed it was my wife at first... I get to the doorway and there's a man seemingly drunk going through my stuff. I yelled at him to stop and the adrenaline started pumping. This obviously drunk burglar looked totally unconcerned with my presence and picked up a hammer off of my bench and came at me with it... well all I had in my hand was this DiamondBack Tactical 6-24x50. I'm telling you I beat this man with the scope so badly that it looked like somebody cleaned a deer on the garage floor when it over. I repeatedly hit this guy with the scope as hard as i possibly could. Head, back, arms, ribs. I knocked him to the point that he was incoherent and dazed then finally managed to restrain him. The police arrived after only 10 minutes thankfully and took him to jail. He landed one hit on my leg with the hammer which left a bad bruise but I was fine. The cops arrived my wife and I were pinning him down in his pool of blood. The cop that cuffed him was assuming that i beat him with with my fists. When I told him that I beat him with this scope he was totally flabbergasted! Him and his back-up units thought it was awesome and hilarious. Being in Texas they also told him how lucky he was that I didn't shoot the guy simply because I didn't have a gun on me... all in all this scope left me with a great story. It is still bloody and I need to clean it. They took pictures of the scope for their police report but let me keep it without admitting it. By the way I guess all of the abuse that this scope took really loosened up the parallax adjustment and now it is just right.
