I wanted one in tan when I bought the first one. Right on target and fast to use for me, don't see why anyone would not like these. Yes it is inexpensive but it holds up for me and keeps zero. My AR is very expensive from it's LWRC short stock to it's side charging upper to the pined B E Meyers flash suppressor it's only 30" long. Why put a inexpensive scope on such a nice weapon? Why not Vortex makes fine optics and this works as good as the $850 overpriced red dots for me. It's compact and fits my compact weapon , going to look good on my ATAC camo weapon. Sparc II is awesome for the money.

If you expect the best quality red dot on the market for $190. that may be an unrealistic expectation.
This installs easy, solid aluminum construction. Worked great on a sunny day in the dessert. Easy to sight in... Actually it was almost spot on out of the box. up/down and right/left adjustments have nice clicks.
Can't beat VORTEX warranty - life. no matter what happens.
Only negative is that you can see a small bump of melted plastic inside the optic. I thought there was something wrong until I looked from the other side and saw that the laser was housed there.

Great affordable red dot. It's nice to have a company that will throw in some extras, like flip up covers, multiple mounting bases, & a great warranty. Have shot with this red dot several times & have had 0 issues.

First vortex product I've bought. This product has a wide range of intensity adjustments. For the price I have to say it's one of the best red dots available. It will hold zero and easy to make adjustments and zero. I would buy another one if I had another gun to use it on.

Great sight, came as advertised. I use it on my Ar-15 and it was almost zeroed out of the box. Adjustments were easy and I had it sighted in with very few rounds. Sight was everything I was hoping for, and Optics Planet was very helpful and answered all of my questions before I made my choice. I love this sight and Optics Planet!! Would highly recommend them both!!

Good solid light with excellent fit and finish. Looks great and operates the way I expected. Sometimes a optic isn't what you envisioned until you open the box. This one was just right and will not be sending it back. (some brands turn out wrong for my applications, thanks Optics Planet for your no hassle return policy). It is the right size and weight for my Sig. The multiple mount bases helped get to the right height.

My dept has the expensive Aimpoint PRO's and they're awesome. I debated on getting one for my AR but I just couldn't justify paying that much for a red dot when I could just use my irons. Buddy of mine swears by Vortex optics and recommended the SPARC II, so I decided to give it a try. I only bought the OPMOD version because it was $30 cheaper than the regular SPARC II, even though from what I read they're the exact same optic. Easy to install, the 2 MOA dot is nice and clear, perfect co-witness setup as well. Luckily mine was almost dead on from the factory at 50 yards. Highly recommend this for anyone not wanting to spend big money on an optic.
Pros:
- Easy to install
- High quality
- Affordale
- Co-witness Iron sights Well

Ordered my first Red Dot from Optics Planet. Was simply researching prices on the 'net and had sent an inquiry to Optics Planet, not really expecting a reply for a week or so, or at best a form letter reply, but the next day had an actual reply from them!!
Long story short, I got my red dot and Optics Planet in now on my very short list of favorite online shopping sites.
The only criticism I can think of is, a week or so after my order, I received an email with either a $15 or 15% off on my next order (cant remember which now), but it was only good for 2 days! I really think something like that should be good for at least 60 days.
As to the Red Dot itself, I am extremely pleased with it. I initially started sighting it in at 50 yards ( and my first 3 shots could be covered with a quarter, with the edges of 2 of the holes touching). After a couple adjustments and a few more rounds, I moved the target out to 140 yards. Right on the money. I was also able to pop 1 gallon milk jugs full of water quite easily. Now, this is a sight with no magnification, and 140 yards is kind of stretching it out there, but I was very pleased with the results. I can most definitely recommend this sight to anybody not wanting to spend $500 to $800 on a top of the line sight.
Pros:
- works great even in the brightest light
- At twighlight the lower brightness settings were low enough to not overpower the target.
- The multiple base plates allowd me to install the sight to co-witness with my open sights.
Cons:
- Adjustment caps were difficult to unscrew and screw back on
Best Used for:
- close, fast shots.
- Medium and short range shots. Not intended for long range precision.

I have only been able to shoot with it once but I made a two click adjustment and was able to stay with in the size of group that I wanted. My adjustments were made while shoulder firing the rifle so it's not perfect or exact but I am extremely happy with the product. It seems to be well built and hopefully will last a very long time. The thing I like most about the products from vortex is if you are building a more budget friendly build like I did but don't want to sacrifice quality, then the vortex optics are the way to go. Thanks!
Cons:
- None that I have found so far

I have seen and shot many guns looking through so many various red dots. From Aimpoints, Eotechs, all the way done to a $30 reflex sight. This has the brightness of an aimpoint or Eotech giving you very solid target acquisition which for myself is very difficult as I'm colorblind. I have an Eotech exps2 and now this as my personal optics of choice. Very funtional red dot and a great value overall. Highly recommended for new shooters or maybe even more experienced shooters with multiple weapons systems and needing to run multiple red dots, this is a great option! Hard to believe it's only $180-$200.
