The Vortex Optics Swing Mount is a good solid mount. It works well. I like the quick-detach design. Pros: quality construction

Better than expectations

by Legacy Reviewer, Verified Owner from MT, United States Written on June 24, 2013
I bought on of the cheaper knock offs that are copies of the Eotech unit but the mount was flimsy and it wobbled. This unit is totally unique in the way it swivels around rather than to the side which means it can mount closer to the optic and takes less room on the rail. It is very sturdy and holds like a rock. It is expensive compared to the knock offs but worth the money I could have saved buying it first.
Pros: Makes more room on the rail, easy to use, very strong
Cons: Pricey
Would recommend: Yes

Better than the cheap mounts

by Legacy Reviewer, Verified Owner from MT, United States Written on June 2, 2013
I bought a cheaper mount previously that wobbled like a toy so bit the bullet and paid for a professional mount. This one is top notch. It fitd very tight with no wobble and I actually prefer the 180 degree swing rather than the standard flip to the side mount. It allows the mount to be placed as far to the back of the rail as possible to get the magnifier closer to the correct eye position. It also swings totally out of the way to the side of your choice without having to push it forward so it can be closer to the red dot sight. Getting the proper tension adjustment takes a bit of trial and error but once set it is tight and secure. I really like it a lot.
Pros: Fits tight, no wobble, Flip around style
Cons: High price

great magnifier mount

by Legacy Reviewer, Verified Owner Written on March 18, 2013
- magnifier can be placed on both sides of rifle when disengaged /just by change of orientation of the mount/
- easy to engage/disengage
- when disengaged magnifier is placed little lower to the side so there is only little interference with the sight
- in disengaged position magnifier can not be used /turned 180 degrees/
- overall works great
Pros: outstanding build quality + quick release mount
Cons: does not lock firmly in place, so it can be disegaged accidentally
Would recommend: Yes

Stable and sturdy

by Legacy Reviewer, Verified Owner from DC, United States Written on August 24, 2012
Works great with 3x magnifier; makes me want to get a 5x as well. Seems more sturdy that the flip to side type. However, because it rotates 180 degrees out of the way, you can't cant [tilt] the rifle for a quick look through it when it is disengaged like the simpler flip mounts.
Pros: Smooth and easy disengage
Cons: Can't use when swung to side

Great mount- for an ABSOLUTE CO-WITNESS though!

by Legacy Reviewer, from WA, United States Written on April 1, 2012
ordered and had to return because my eotech has a built-in riser. oops. but i was impressed with it- adjustments don't take a special tool, it seemed pretty lightweight but at the same time quite robust- if my eotech was lower i'd have kept it :) ended up going with a larue lt755t.
Pros: easy, tool-free adjustment
Cons: unorthodox swing motion?
