Comes out of box ready to go. Literally comes with battery and all you got to do is point and push the button and gives you an almost instant reading in yards. The glass is crystal clear and the menu is very easy to navigate. The included carry case compliments the range finder and fits snuggly inside. This is very fairly priced compared to all the other brands on the market and definitely an upgrade I recommend to anyone needing a premium range finder.
