Dear Folks,
I have used a pair of Leupold Poro Prism binoculars that my Dad gave me 22 years ago. Since I had booked both a Dall Sheep and Big Horn Sheep hunt in 2014 I decided I should upgrade my binoculars finally and purchased the Razor HD 10X42. I brought them both out on the stand side by side on a morning whitetail hunt and decided that the Vortex were only slightly better than the 22 year old leupolds that probably cost $250 or $300 back then. I did not get a chance to try them out in low light conditions until a month later. I was very disappointed in the light gathering ability of the Vortex compared to my old Leupold. I decided to return them to Optics Planet and they told me I had passed the 30 day deadline for returns. I should have known better but am now stuck with a $1200 binocular that isn't that great in my opinion.
Pros: Ruggedly Built
Cons: Not worth the money. Light Gathering ability is suspect
