Most Helpful Positive Review Spare battery holder for most scope batteries
Ever have your battery die at the least opportune moment? This holder fits on the picatinny rail and will hold any flat battery that's the size of a CR2032 or smaller(will not fit a CR2430) or slightly bigger than a penny but too small for a nickel. Holder has an O-ring to seal the compartment and...

Most Helpful Negative Review Not what I expected from vortex
For a couple years now I have come to believe that Vortex meant value. They may not make the very best on the market but you're going to get a high quality, high value piece that won't break the bank. I use everything from the Razor HD 2 down to a crossfire and I've been happy with the quality for...

Chunky and big

by pizza, from VA, United States Written on February 27, 2025
this works but it really stands on out on the firearm and could probably be better stored somewhere else on the body. It seems like its larger than it needs to be

Great Idea, Weak Implementation

by BillKstl, Verified Owner from MO, United States Written on January 7, 2025
Overall, it does what it is supposed to.

To use it, you must have access to an open end of your rail. For example, if you have a BUIS front and a laser, these must be removed so the device can be slid on.

I purchased 3 of these and two of them didn't have the cable crimped on tightly and the cable disconnected from the cap.
Pros:
  • Inexpensive
  • Cool Idea
Cons:
  • poor cable crimping
  • challenging to install
Best Used for:
  • SHTF or one-time field use

Very handy

by JAMIN, Verified Owner from TX, United States Written on May 28, 2018
I have an illuminated reticle and this provides some peace of mind when out in the field. Easy installation and low profile so you can hide it almost anywhere. Mounted mine just in front of my bipod and used the lanyard to tie off to it.
Pros:
  • Low profile
  • EASY INSTALL
Cons:
  • None
Best Used for:
  • Any who needs an extra battery

Vortex Battery Holder

by raf, from RI, United States Written on January 5, 2016
Since batteries store well, but will run down with use, makes sense to have a spare. This gizmo keeps the batt dry and available. Currently black only, but can probably be painted some other color with plastic-gripping paint like Krylon Fusion or other, similar paint
Pros:
  • It works great
Cons:
  • Pic-rail mount only, but adaptora are available for other systems

CR2032 battery holder

by Ed Coker, from AL, United States Written on February 4, 2015
It looked good in the picture, but it is made out of plastic and the tab that locks it to the rail broke off so the battery holder would slide on the rail. Just need to be very careful when installing it.

for those Just In Case moments...

by Legacy Reviewer, Verified Owner from PA, United States Written on June 30, 2012
Does what it is supposed to. Little expensive, but if your battery goes out on your optic and you don't have a spare, well, you get the idea. I cut the tether off, snagged easily.
Pros: lightweight, easy to put on, seals nice & tight
Cons: tether on the cap gets in the way and is easily snagged

Battery holder for a 2032 battery

by Legacy Reviewer, Verified Owner Written on January 3, 2012
Great way to keep a spare battery for an Aimpoint T1 or a Leupold Mark 4 (illuminated reticle model) close at hand. Low profile design with a tethered and 'o-ringed' battery cap.
Pros: Low profile and light weight
Cons: Takes up 1 1/2" of rail space.
